My boyriend has just woken me up with some very bad news. I have got some expensive glasses which I've only had for two weeks, I got pricey ones because I thought that if I have to wear them all the time then I want to look good in them.
Well anyway I put them on top of the microwave last night out of reach of the dogs (got two English Bull Terriers) and the cat must have knocked them off because my dogs have eaten them, there all chewed to pieces and I'm really gutted right now not to mention totaly blind! I paid £200 all together for them and now I'm going to have to replace them and I have no money right now.
Just tought I'd vent my frustration!

I'd just like to say the dogs are totally fine the lenses were intact and the frame was just totally mangled just non repareable. Of coarse their health is paramount to me not exactly going to spend £1000 on getting my dogs leg fixed and then let her die from ingesting plastic am I! Hence why I have very little money at the moment. Anyway I just bought a pair of the same ones off of ebay for £26 so thats a bargain just got to get my lenses fitted in them and I wont be blind any more. I never used to need glasses untill a couple of weeks ago!

That is a bummer. I remember once my daughter (she was around 2) got hold of nail polish and painted the tv, dvd etc. Not so much a problem( as it wiped off) but she also painted the carpet and lounge suite. I went off my nut but she had no idea what was wrong... and she still loved me. I can totally understand your frustration because I can't see without my glasses either so wouldnt just be the cost of replacing but the inconvenience of not being able to see the monitor at work, driving etc.
Hope fully if you have house insurance you can claim something... dont say the dogs ate them you have to say you lost them or ran over them with the car (a white lie) if not, then your going to have to get a cheaper pair and keep them safe when your sleeping
Good luck - Remember the dogs will love you unconditionally

I love dogs! They are so funny! And cats too. You're lucky being able to have cats as well as the dogs, my boyfriends allergic to moggies, so we've just got the dog - who is great! Dogs or cats don't have human emotions so don't hate you at all! They just like having fun - especially if they're bored. Also, 2 dogs will always have the guts to do naughty stuff that perhaps one dog on his own wouldn't do! The glasses were there and they thought - ooh what's this?! Let's chew it, that would be fun!! It probably taught you a valuable lesson though didn't it?!

Your pets can't hate you. We all learn the hard way sometimes. Put them in their proper place. This you already know. Buy 2 pairs of reasonably priced glasses. There are many styles that would look great on you.Sometimes the pricey ones are just for the name brand. Good luck on replacing them soon. Things will get better.

Poor you. I woke up this morning to a house without any dog wee on the floor (good day) but a nice pile of cat sick next to the bed (bad day). Still love both animals though. Walk them til their paws are sore!!

Good score on the ebay front tho!

I appreciate your problem and can't help really. As long as the dogs are OK .
However, you could claim on your house insurance for the glasses. I did when I slipped, fell and broke mine.
Hope this helps.

Aren`t u the least bit concerned about the welfare of ur dogs too, after all, u say they chewed and ate ur glasses, I`d be more worried about glass or metal in their stomachs. Your glasses can be replaced, but what about ur dogs ?? It seems a hasty trip to the vet is in order, ASAP.

Your pets don't hate you, animals aren't really capable of hatred in the way humans are! They are just being naughty!

As long as the dogs are okay, everything else is fixable.

That really sucks. I am so sorry. Your cats and dogs don't hate you. They don't realize that you NEED your glasses. I hope you can replace them soon.
