I remember this bloke (a friend of a friend) who could not work out dating people.....too shy or whatever. So he tried dating sites and it seemed to me that A LOT of people are just looking for "a pigeon to feather". He met lots of foreign people that were far more interested in his money and wedding (to get citizenship) than him.
On the same time, I know some couples that started through agencies (the dating sites ancestors) and it worked perfectly well for them.
In the end, if you wanna go for it, just do it be but extra carreful..

Whatever you do, don't listen to these people that say dating sites don't work.
Online dating is not for everyone; just like the bar scene is not for everyone. Online dating is a great way for people to meet who may have obligations that don't allow them much of a social life to get out and meet people. I met the love of my life on a dating site and we are a thousand miles away. But that ok, because geography should not dictate one's love life!
Give it a shot and if it doesn't work out, oh well, you tried. If another method works for you, then good luck!

they can work of course. BUT and there is always a but they are also good hunting ground for predators and those who want multiple relationships. Be very wary of all that is said and think long and hard examine the evidence before you trust. If you start dating only contiunue if you know this person has quite trawling the sites else it is an insult as in they still think there is something better out there.

yes they do work,my cousin met her boyfriend on a UK dating site and they've been together now for just over 7 months.They're not for sad lonley people or losers as someone else has said

Never used myself!!!! but i may try them out (and i dont consider myself sad) times have changed people dont get as much chance now to meet new people !especialy when you reach a certain age yes i do know of two people who it worked for

no, it is not a place for sad, lonely people, it is a place for sad, pathetic losers who can't establish any relationships in real world because they re losers on the first place, and for some reason they got this idea if they start doing the same thing on internet they somehow succeed. but a loser is always a loser

think they can work..but these sites are also encouraging married/attached people to indulge in affairs over the internet

They work, but you have to put up with alot of people e-mailing you with some sob story asking for money. Seriously.
