Im at the point where I want to try the surgical weigh loss using the stomach band, more of a non evasive alternaticve to reconstructing my stomach to a small pouch. I need to know if anyone out there has had this procedure and what I can expect. I have heard good things like the weight loss, and bad things like being sick, having to take expensive suppliments, hunger, being on liquids only for a time, and diarreah, vomiting and having to take a long period off work for aftercare. What was your experience, would you reccommend it, how soon can I go back to work (desk job). Tell me the worst thing I can expect, other than death. I need to hear it from somebody who has actually done this, and yes I have visited the web sites, but want to hear real life real people experience. I am 48 and need to lose about 140 pounds. What was it like ? Was it really bad, or was it not as bad as some would say ? Were you starving having to eat so little ? How long to adjust to the eating pattern ?

Also, what exactly were you allowed to eat and how much, did u still have to eat like on a regular diet ? I scares me to think I can only eat a teaspoon of food every couple of hours, or is that a myth ? Give me the low down in simple language i can understand.

Might I also add that I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, so exercise is not always possible, often painful, but I do walk my doggie and stretch.
