do you think there is ever gonna be another theory of life besides evolution that science is going to adhear to. i like the intellegent design theory. but has there been any mass amount of research into it?

if you are all so sure about evolution, explain yourselves on chemical evolution... something that has been dismissed by scientists for a while now and even hardcore darwinists (yes you read right). you can sit there and explain to me all these things about how your theory is right. but where does it all boil down to? where does information if it had nothing to direct it in the 1st place? when did the 1st cell take place, or are you going to tell me that like your supposed theory on the universe it has allways been here? there is no addequate proof for the 1st cell. and design is written all over it. sorry
but thats the way i see it.

acid_zebra i clearly stated that in my details. that i was asking if they can explain to me what chemical evolution is? i am aware of abiogenesis. and it seems to me that
you haven't been reading properly.
i very cautiously said life. and not the origin of life. because evolution seems to be the big explanation these days about life in general. no where it came from.

It's possible there will be another scientific answer rather than evolution if the scientific community is willing to revise their opinions. I mean no disrespect by this but scientists are people and they tend to hang onto explanations they like, just like everyone else. The theory of evolution still has many flaws in it that are difficult to explain by research. Since the process as described is so slow it's difficult to test. People also confuse the concept of evolution and selective adaptation which is observable.
The intelligent design theory is just as unprovable as evolution. It's based mostly upon mathematical possibilities. The people who support intelligent design are no less aware of the science involved than the evolutionists. They simply believe the mathematics do not support the number of chance events that have to occur for live as we know it today.
Personally I think it would be better if people stopped insulting each other and started looking at where the two ideas meet. It's possible they would discover they have more ground in common than they realize.

Theory is a misnomer. When Darwin came up with it it was a theory. Now it is a proved fact. DAN took care of that once and for all. Darwin did not have DNA at his disposal to work out the details. Intelligent design misses the whole point of evolution and the way natural selection works. So the Eye is designed and not an accretion of small changes over a vast period of time. Darwinian evolution needs time and the contemporaries of Darwin did not give him enough time. Not with an earth a few thousand to a couple of million years old. Then geology came to the rescue and gave Darwin the billions of years needed. Intelligent design refuses to accept or understand natural selection.

How much research do you need? It seems to me that the intelligent design answer to the evolution question is irrefutable. It simply says that design in the universe is undeniable. The law of cause and effect says that wherever you find design you must have a designer somewhere. Since the cause must have everything the effect does and the effect(the universe) has intelligence, the cause(the designer) must also have intelligence. So you need an intelligent designer of this universe. But who could design a universe outside of a God. You call Him whatever you want to call Him. I call Him a God. That refutes evolution since evolution says that everything came about by random chance. The I.D. argument, it seems to me, is irrefutable. It's a simple logical argument:
Premise #1: Wherever you find design, you need a designer.
Premise #2: The universe exhibits design
Conclusion: The universe needs a designer.
The only way around that argument is to deny the second premise. Every atheist has to deny design. As I've said before, If you read Richard Dawkins two latest books('the blind watchmaker' and 'the god delusion') that's exactly what he does. He denies design. He says that there's no design in the universe, just the "appearance of design". But that's insane. You just can't logically and realistically deny that there's design all through the universe. It's all around you. You have to be blind not to see it. There are branches of science that basically just study the design in nature.........scientific disciplines such as nano-technology and bio-mimetrics. These disciplines study the design in nature.......whales,bats,dolphins... have sonar.......and try to create machines that mimic that design. Everywhere you look there's design. Where there's design there's got to be a designer. That's just common sense. Creation is not an unproven theory. It's a common sense fact that we come to by just using a little logic and reason.
Paly's argument of the 1700's still holds today. He said that if you are walking through a forest and you find a watch sitting upon a rock, you have 2 possible explanations: 1)It was designed and built by a watchmaker 2) It came about the same way the rock that it is sitting upon came about.....by random chance. Which explantion makes more sense?
Do you really believe that dumb mud could somehow bootstrap itself into intelligence over billions of years simply by random chance luck?
To Dawkins, belief in God is a projection of human longings and a type of wish-fulfillment. Such an argument works against atheism as well since an atheist wishes there is no God and therefore believes there is no God.
As far as another theory besides evolution. I guarantee there will be another theory that will replace evolution. But ultimately there is only 2 theories:1)everything was created by a God(creation) 2)everything somehow evolved by random chance.
There will be another theory to replace evolution because Darwinian evolution is dead. It's been dead for a long time. It died back in the early 1960's when Crick and Watson discovered DNA. Our bodies have tons of information in the DNA. You have enough information in your DNA to fill encyclopedia sized books stacked from here to the moon and back 500 times. Do you really think that came about by just random chance........kind of like a monkey typing out the works of Shakespear just by randomly plucking away at the keys? Information only comes from intelligence. It never comes from dead chemicals nor does life come from dead chemicals. This charade can't go on for ever. But there will always be some kind of a theory to counter creation because there is a lot of people who do not want to believe in God and if you do not want to believe in God you must have a theory that explains how everything got here wothout a God.

none. everything they say points back to evolution. however, these scientists don't consider the rule of logic. first, they say the universe was by chance created, BUT, take note, this chance CAME from something (the big bang). ok, let us take the derivative (euphemism mine) further. WHERE O WHERE did the big bang came from? Yes, someone said that if we can't explain evolution yet, it doesn't mean that its false. Well, that goes with God, if you can't understand how God made the materials for my AMD Sempron processor, it doesn't mean God didnt made it. Evolutionists derive creation from logic but we Christians derive it through faith.
Take Note:
If everything is the design, then only the designer can manipulate/modify the design right? who do you think can control the wind and the waves? can provide exact architectural design for an ark, a temple and a city? can make a bush combust without burning? can bypass Bernoulli's equation and walk on water? can restore Carbon-based lifeforms? can make a person of mass "m" travel the speed of light (..in a twinkling of an eye..) without hurting him/her? can make an EXOTHERMIC prison underground?
Hmmmm... il give you a clue...He is the one whom Satan and everyone else will be worshipping metioned in revelations...

God created everything in the universe. Evolution is a bogus theory trying to eliminate God. There has been no proof or will be no proof for evolution, because it is not true. Even the scientific community, who supports evolution, call it a theory because that is what it is. If it is so true like some claim, why don't they call it the law of evolution. There are some who would like to but the facts keep pointing them in the direction of the creator. You know it takes more faith to be an atheist than a Christian. This is my honest opinion and I feel I did not bad mouth you, but if you're an atheist it might of offended you, if so I'm sorry, but you're still wrong. God bless

The "theory of evolution isn't just a theory any more. They don't do a decent job of teaching it in schools, or more people would realize this fact. You shouldn't go with a belief just because you like it. You have to go with the evidence. And yes there is over whelming evidence in support of evolution. None supporting Geneses. You should log onto http://www.pointofinquiry.org Do you believe that just because vulcanologist's don't know every thing about volcanoes, that means volcanoes don't exist? Just because scientists don't know everything about evolution, doesn't prove evolution doesn't happen.

There has been no real research into intelligent design, it's just made up stuff. Evolution is the best explanation that we have right now but as we learn more the theory of evolution may evovle. We don't know how much.

As for there being another scientific explanation, it is possible... scientists are willing to change their ideas and reasoning with proof that they are wrong.
Intelligent design will never have another theory, because once religious people have an idea, they cement it in "faith" and will not change.
