I saw the thick black smoke. Didn't see the planes hit the building, but I remember seeing clouds of smoke billowing over the southern tip of Manhattan. I was fishing on Long Island, a burb of NYC, when the attacked happened. My neighborhood because an avenue of funeral processions, one after one. I must have seen five funerals in one week in my neighborhood. How does it feel? A horror. And yes, I lost a friend in that attack.

I didn't see the planes hit because I was already at work. I did see the smoke from a distance later that day. I could smell it from my apt. It's forever burned into my memory. It was a horrific life-altering experience. I was a dispatcher for a delivery service at the time. One of my drivers was making a delivery there that morning and was killed. He left behind a wife, son, and daughter. I believe that everyone on the city was very deeply affected by that day, more so than anyone else in the country could imagine.

I was watching the fire in the North Tower on NY1 news when the second plane hit the South Tower. I still get choked up and very angry when I think of it.

The North tower had a great place to hang out in It was called The Greatest Little Bar On Earth. It had spectacular views, friendly people, Bar food, and of course Booze.

I used to take visitors, friends and dates there --- Man I miss that place.

I was walking down Hudson to go to the WTC (I walk pretty far) and deposit some checks at Schwab. I saw the black smoke from the first tower but didn't really know where it was from (it looked closer). Everyone was in the street looking at the fire and all of the cars had their doors opened and were playing their radios on the same channel (or at least it souned that way). Then we all saw the 2nd one hit and everyone gasped.

I'm not NY resident, but few minutes after the crash, the event was on the news and at that time i was travelling in a bus watching it with satelite TV.
It was really shock, my heart feels like stop pumping cos I can't imagine something like that would happend in NY.

I feel very sorry for the victims and hope their soul in peace.
