Snapple Green Tea keeps advertising that they have EGCG. My bottle of Lipton Green Tea does not even mention it, although it does say that it has antioxidants. Does it have EGCG? anybody know?
thanks.

they probably both have antioxidants and EGCG, but not as much as freshly brewed tea. sorry but I just can't see processed bottled tea to be as fresh as freshly made tea.

It probably does, but just a little.

A 2007 report published by the US Department of Agriculture compares nearly 400 foods for their EGCG content.

The USDA report measures EGCG content for each gram of tea leaves brewed in 100 millimetres of water. One cup is 8-ounce, or about 225 millimetres.

Top of the list is an original brew of green tea. One cup of brewed green tea contains a whopping 180 milligrams of EGCG content in green tea.

Bringing up the rear is instant green tea with only a pitiful 9 milligrams.

Drink it for the taste, but in term of health benefits bottled green tea is no good.
