Here's just what i think from my collective 18 years in America and 3 years in Japan. If I, a white guy, date an asian girl --no matter how good looking or intelligent she may be-- the general public who sees us together automatically assumes that I am socially sub-par and that I settled on an asian girl because it's easier to begin dating one than dating a white girl. What's up with that? Plus, you'll never hear the end of the "me love you long time" jokes. I really don't want to be "that guy," the guy who has a "thing" for asians, but living in Japan, its very frustrating knowing that such a stereotype exists in the first place. I hate the people who had to create it and ruin things for the rest of us. Personally I just like hot girls, I don't care what race they are, but... when in Rome, right? What are your thoughts? Agree? disagree? Is it just my imagination? Like to add anything I may have left out?

Because these types of relationships have been occuring so often and the majority of them always start off with horrible reasons. You might be in the minority of people who actually love girls for who they are but most people don't think like this. Most white guys just date asian girls solely because they are asian. You will always hear an asian fetish telling an asian girl they are "beautiful no matter what" but it's so rare to hear "you look a bit odd today". There's a difference.

Stereotypes exist. If I walk into a Kroger ( in Texas ) grocery store I still get stared at as if I just came to america last week. Well I speak english perfectly, as it is the only language that I know, and served in the US Army.
People come up to me everyday and ask me where I am from. I say "houston", and they say "no where are you originally from?" then I say "houston" and nobody believes me.

It's not in your head. it's not in your imagination. that's the way society is. That's the way people are and that's how it will always be even on the day that I die.
At least you aren't stereotyped as a submissive female.
