I would very much like to understand why someone who flew aplane into the World Trade Center is a "legal" immigrant and a child who was taken here at the age of 2 to have a better life is an "illegal" immigrant

Yeah, gotta love how wonderful a job that Government is doing deciding who should be legal. I can sleep so much better at night knowing they are keeping people who want a better life out and terrorists in.

Anyone getting it yet?

DAR - I can't find fault with anything you said. I am just saying that I would like to see the LAWS and SYSTEM changed so that someone who is coming here to have a better life CAN do it without taking anything away from the rest of us.

And I still claim that not only is that possible, many DO give us more than they take back, even though they are supposedly "illegal".

The policies of the USA determines who and who not can be in the country.

The pilot of the plane went through all the red tape and paper work, sent it to the immigration dept and was accepted.

Then to become a citizen by taking classes, taking a test and was sworn in. Not that the pilot of the plane went that far.

The child who was 2 and brought over - the parents did not go through proper channels (paperwork) to become accepted. From these things one is either legal or illegal.

Actually, the people who flew into the trade center were, at least 5 of them, visa overstayers, yet Homeland Security is YET AGAIN trying to put off the deadline to have a visa exit system in place. Hopefully background checks are better now.

However, letting in too many people who are too poor to pay in taxes the $7,000 to $10,000 per child per year education costs, and who routinely use social services for their family (often based on birthing a citizen) has terrible consequences for our country as well. Look at the state of our schools where ESL impact is heavy. They are failing. Their children are ruining our children's education, through their sheer numbers, linguistic barriers and poverty.

We let in about a million people a year, one way and another, legally. More than that each year sneak in or overstay illegally. Their better life is at our expense, and at the expense of our children's futures.

Many of the terrorists that belong to cells located in the US either came in on student Visa or snuck across the Canadian or Mexican border they were not granted permanent visas the reason ,we let people into this country is to improve the country not to improve the immigrant. The person migrating should not need to be taken care of by the citizens of this country.

The answer is obvious, the U.S. Government. I am so thankful that there are laws put in place to keep billions of people from every hellhole on Earth from moving in next door to me.
