take them back to the shop and DEMAND a replacement or refund - this is disgusting -m advise the storekeeper that you are doing the following

Call the local health department and report the storekeeper, don't worry if it is a big supermarket chain, this should not happen

Someone is winding you up or the store you bought from has a crank working there. Report this to the shop if you dont think it was someone at home. Fly usually lay eggs in meat and maggots dont go for sweet things.

you should not... either they changed a date stamp, or there are animal fats used in the scones and the flys laid eggs on that, and 2 days later the eggs hatch to produce the maggots. either way they were not fresh!

you wouldn't, and maggots are not attracted to muffins, so it's got to be a hoax

You shouldn't, but they wont do you any harm if you eat them, I'm quite sure every one has eaten them by mistake at some point in their life's.
