I have had a crush on him for a year, now. He is a very friendly and outgoing type of guy. He is much older than I am 13 years older. I am around my 20s and he is around his 40s. He seems to flirt with everybody. He always makes compliments to everybody. He's just a outgoing person. But here is the catch, he has a gf for about, "I think two years." He has been flirting with me a lot, and sometimes seems to stop, and go on. And questions how I am doing, and if anything is going to happen over the weekend. Now for the last two months he has been teasing me and joking with me. This I have not seen done to other coworkers at the site, only with me, I think. I really like him a lot, and I know he is forbidden, and should forget about him. I am trying to do my best, and can't seem too. I am too a people person, but just can't figure out this friendly and great man. Is he just friendly, I have never met a guy this friendly and outgoing. I am confused? Advice is needed!

ya, you're confused. There are many things that can go wrong with this situation. First, he is with someone. Off limits. Just think, if you hook up with this guy because he cheated on his gf, what makes you think he wouldnt cheat on you? Second, he is a coworker! That is a major no no. That can make your work environment very awkward and could get you or him fired. Third, he is too old for you. You are in your twenties, and he is 40's and not married yet or isnt currently in any a longer relationship than 2 years. Ya, he is probably not someone to get involved with. Of course, there is also the possibility that you are just playing the role of the younger woman he is using to just boost his middle aged ego. If you are being receptive of his flirting, he could just mearly see you as 'i've still got it' girl. And of course there is also the possibility that he just sees you as a daughter figure to tease and joke with. Either ways, just let it be and dont persue anything. its in everyones best interest, especially yours.

It sounds like he's pursuing you alright. Do you want to have a reputation as a person who cannot be trusted and breaks up other people's relationships?

Let's try this. Do you want to be with a man who is willing to cheat on the woman he's with and isn't comfortable with people his own age?

That's a *huge* age difference. If you were thirty-something it wouldn't be a big deal but you're twenty-something and I suspect maybe even younger. A man who isn't comfortable with other 40 year old women is usually a predator. They seek out younger, more naive, innocent young women, who don't threaten their ego.

If you can't avoid him like the plague, then find another job. There's a fine line between being "friendly" and being a "people person." Find some nice guy closer to your age, who is single.

Lastly, the bodies of 40 year old men are not like those of 20 year old men. You don't really want to have to see that until you're older. Trust me! :X

I don't know which country you are from...why i am asking this question cause if you are from any Asian country your age difference is not a question at all..., whereas the westerners consider your age difference ( for them two or three years difference is also as OLDER) as HUGE ..bla bla bla...etc. secondly don't believe any body who is having a gf already and then flirt with you/others....cause if you succeed to have him as your bf...what assurance he could give that he wont do this to another girl...more over you are on the way to break somebody s heart/home....and I read many a times peoples who ever participating in this site...say like..".don't get into relationship with a co-worker."..I didnt understand why? since I am not a westerner...might be.

Maybe he is just the flirting type. If he has a gf I would stay clear of him, relationship-wise. If he feels that you are worth it, or he wants to be with you, he can breakup with his gf. From what I read, he hasn't broken up with the gf and probably has no intentions to. I think that his flirting is just part of his personality and he might not mean anything by it. He might not even realize that he is flirting with you or making you think that he likes you.

Ok...I used to have a crush on my boss' son! He also worked at the same place I did.

It was really crazy at first, because not only was he a co-worker, but he was my boss' son! lol. Well, we started talking and dated eventually, and his mom didn't really seem to mind. Even when we broke up, she didn't really care, as long as the business didn't get all fired up or anything.

You should invite him out to lunch or something and see how things go.

It might be fun! And you never know if it'll work out or not unless you try. It could be kinda secretive around work...it'd be fun =)

Good luck!

Old lesson here...Do NOT Sh*t where you sleep. Quit your job and find another if you start a relationship thing...as for the age difference, love has no set definition. What two consenting adults feel is the magic of love because it defies logic.
