You should always have a back-up plan when going on a blind date. For example, have a friend tag along and sit some where they can see you,if he's not what you expect or you think there's something wrong then you can give a sign and they can come over like they didn't know you were there and hopefully rescue you. Or have someone call you and if the dates not going well you can back out gracefully. No matter what you should have a back up (or out) plan. :)

Life is just too short...you know..It really is.....but.... Talk to the person, you really never know until you have a conversation. My current girlfriend did not pop when we first met, and I thought we would be friends, but after time, we warmed up to one another and now I would marry this girl...Also, everyone has a bit to offer...you can learn a little from everyone..switch to that mode..In the end, be honest and candid..

You deal with the date (remember: no one is too horrible to spend 1 date with) and decide what to do afterwards. unless you feel threatened in some way, there is no reason to just ditch them or be rude. Its just a date and you dont have to go on another one with them if you dont want to.
Oh, and if you are thinking of canceling a date just because they dont live up to your standards of beauty, well, youre not even worth giving advice to. I really hope that isnt the case.

Use the Lemon Law. If in the first 5 minutes you realize it won't work, then you just say you are using the lemon law. Your hands are clean, walk away and spend your night playing some awesome laser tag.

If he is ugly you should be polite and just finish the date but if he is rude or mean you should say you have to use the bathroom and sneak out the backdoor. And never tell a blinddate where you live or your last name or where you work...anyhting like that.
