Not all Christians believe Jesus was crucified on a Friday. This is because we have read the Old Testament, and understand the significance of the special Sabbath during the week of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Rather than go into a lot of detail about it here, I will just link an article that does go into detail. It explains it much better than I.

As the article mentions, the day He was crucified is not that much of an issue. The fact remains, He rose from the dead, leaving an empty tomb on the first day of the week.

The Bible doesnt say that it could be for 3 days and 3 nights. It does say that "on the third day he rose back." this is the day the deciples went to look to the place he replaced into buried and he wasnt there. Jonah wasn't crucified. He replaced into nonetheless alive. permit's count style this ok: a million. Friday, 2. Saturday, 3. Sunday... on the third day. do not attempt to complicate an uncomplicated project. additionally this is not pronounced interior the Bible that it occurred on Friday. basically like Christmas Day, the fairly days have been later desperate on. So, that Easter could fall on a Sunday and there could be a provider to commemorate. while they picked the day they knew what occurred and in the event that they wanted it to be that way, they might've basically mentioned He replaced into Crucified on Thursday and not Friday.

Friday is considered a day, Saturday is considered a day and Sunday is considered a day. I don't believe any one said full day. When you talk about going to work for the day do you mean 24 hours? I don't think so. When you go to see someone for the day is it 24 hours or a short visit? But it was the day wasn't it? What is wrong with using the term that everyone else uses? I bet he thought that would help you understand a little bit better, yet you are confused?????

There is a bigger question that this on this topic my friend.
No man was kept on the cross on sabbath. So by the evening of Friday, Jesus should have been taken down from the cross. He could not have died in few hours.
"According to Jewish custom it was unlawful and a punishable crime to let anyone remain on the Cross on the Sabbath day, or during the night previous to it; Jews, like Muslims, observed the lunar calendar, sunset being regarded as beginning the day." (Jesus In India - Mirza Ghulam Ahmad)
If Jesus was resurected then how do we explain that a heavenly body needs to eat, drink and rest? He even showed his disciples that he was still bleeding!
"Now, here one has to consider whether, after acquiring an eternal spiritual body, i.e., after gaining that immortal body which entitled him, having been freed from the necessity of eating and drinking, to sit on the right hand of God and to be free of all wounds, and pain, and infirmities, it still suffered from one defect, although it had the glory of the Eternal and Ever-Existing God -- the defect, namely, that his body had on it fresh wounds of the Cross and the nails, which were bleeding and were very painful and for which an ointment had been prepared, and even after acquiring a glorious and an immortal body, eternally sound, faultless, perfect, and unchangeable, that same body continued to suffer from defects of many kinds: Jesus himself showed to his disciples the flesh and bones of his body, and again, not only this, but there were also the pangs of hunger and thirst -- necessities of the mortal body; otherwise, where was the need for him during the journey to Galilee to do such useless things as eating and drinking water, resting, and sleeping? Undoubtedly, hunger and thirst, in this world, are painful for the mortal body, which may even prove fatal if they become extreme. So there is no doubt that Jesus did not die on the Cross, nor did he acquire a new spiritual body: rather, he was in a state of death-like swoon. " (Jesus In India - Mirza Ghulam Ahmad)
Back to the question. Through surfing the net, I have found that many christians now believe that Jesus was crucified on either wednesday, their belief are :
Jesus was crucified on Wednesday and rose Saturday afternoon.
That Christ being in the grave for 72 hours was the only sign that would prove His Messiahship.
If Jesus did not fulfil this sign of being in the grave for 72 hours, He was an impostor, and we are without a Messiah.
It's a better formula :)

The temple He was speaking of was his body since our bodies are temples for JesusBefore Jesus was crucified, He said(at the temple, I think) that He will destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days. What He meant was that He will die(the crucifixion) and rise 3 days later.
And yes, I do believe all this.

it is to do with hebrew or the jewish days he rose on the 3rd day. it seems to us only 2 or 1 1//2 but in the jewish calender days are messure from evening. I have come across many referances to the 3rd day being the day after tomorrow in the old testiment. it does work out but its to do with translation and understanding the culture.

As I was saying: get a life!
By the way, don't send me any messages, I never read the messages coming from "another user". I suppose that you were the one who already sent me two of them.
I am serious, I mean no harm when I say "get a life".
Cheers.

You're using modern usage of "days". The Jewish calendar and time is different. Maybe you need to look that up, before you post things like this.

Because it's all a joke. Beleiving in Christianity is truly the way to stupidity. Jesus probably did live - but he was nothing more than a man.

I think that people forget that the Bible is full of parables & should be treated that way. Literal interpretation is what has led to religous wars for centuries.
