I just bought the onkyo 674 surround reciever system and was wondering what would be a great sounding affordable ($500 or less)speaker system for it...thx

Paradigm makes a great speaker for what you are looking for
there are a lot of companys that I would look into
but me being me I always try to buy from a speaker company, not like Sony or Yahamaha
but Paradigm, or Pinical or Boston Accustics, or Polk, they all make very good speaker, the diffice is how you like your music to sound

Hi howard .The speakers must be able to handel the output of each channel of the receiver.Speakers all have their own particular sound which adds to the sound of what they are playing.It is best not to rely on a particular brand.KLIPSH speakers are the popular ones at the moment.They may suit you but please if you can listen to other brands .You might like one of these instead.Just make sure they can handel the output of the amp.Regards,Rob

Ask for a demo down at the Circuit City...And wait for them to go on sale...The sub drops from $200 to $150 all the time...And the speakers are usually $50 each instead of $65...Enjoy!
