Lately he's been very depressed and just laying on my bed. He won't eat anything. His eyes are red and watery. He doesn't even keep them open. But whenever he opens them, he just gives me that look like he wants to tell me that its his time to go.

I don't know.

Am I imagining things or is it really his time?

His eyes may be asking you for help, as he can't get to a vet by himself..
He is suffering a malady known as 'veterinarian deprivation'..which is an all too common killer of dogs.
Unless he has already been, and there is nothing the vet could do..I am sorry he is so ill..

He's probably not telling you he's ready to die, more likely he's saying "I feel sick".

There are plenty of illnesses that would fit the description you gave, what comes to mind for me is an upper respiratory infection, common and easily treated with antibiotics.

This sort of infection will cause a pet have red, watery eyes and lethargy as well as to stop eating because they loose their sense of smell as well as appetite.

Treatment for an infection is fairy cheap and easy and can save the dogs life, yes something that simple can kill him if he's not treated so it's time to give your vet a call and have him looked at.

Good luck to you and your doggy,I hope he's feeling better soon.

As others have said, you should take the dog to the vet. It could (hopefully) simply be very sick, or even just mildly sick. If he is not 'rasping' then its a positive sign that he may only be sick. (An infection or some sort.)

I've had two cats die on me.
A 15 year old cat; Couldn't eat/drink, stayed as close as he could to my husband without giving away that he was sick (he failed, we noticed...) rasped breath. Ended up being cancer of the lungs.
A 2 year old cat; (November 13, 2006.... *sob*) Stayed as close as he could to me, even going so far as to sleep on my arms while at the computer. Wouldn't eat much, slight rasp in breath, energy level came and went. Had Leukemia.

In both cases I had the cat taken to the vet when they started acting abnormal (which is recommended to pet owners anyway) but come to think of it, in the end I had to be with them as they were put to sleep also... =\ God I miss them.

The lack of eating and lack of energy is a general symptom of a sick anything.

How old is your dog? If it's old, then it is time. He's telling you that it's time for you to let him go. You sure he didn't eat anyhting wrong? If he did, then at least you still can bring him to the vet. What you can do now, is rush him to the emergency vet & ask the doctor to evaluate him. But, if the doctor says he's not sick but is time for him to be free, then let him go...Don't let him suffer anymore. He'll go to where the other dogs & cats go - Rainbow Bridge. I'm so sorry about your dog...May God be with him. I'll pray for him...

You need to take him to a vet so he doesn't suffer. It sounds like he is just sick, possibly with an infection of some sort. A vet can run bloodwork to find out what is wrong and check organ functioning.

Take him to a vet... let them figure out what is wrong with your 4 legged buddy. If you can not afford a vet, take him to the local animal control center...they have vets there that will do many things at low to no cost.

There's tons that a vet can do to improve the quality of life for animals at just about any age, or situation.

open his mouth and check the color of his gums and the moisture level in his mouth. If he is on his last legs he will be getting dehydrated. My moms dog just gave up on life last fall 3 weeks after her daughter died. She was depressed, stopped eating, etc same symptoms as your dog. If you can afford it somehow, please take your beloved to the vet and have him checked out. An exam usually runs around $40-$50.

Unless you are a vet, I wouldn't be assuming anything from a look from your dog, i have two dogs myself, if he's not acting normal as usual, you need to take him to a vet, he could be suffering for all you know..he needs the proper care and attention from an animal vet so he can get better.

Is your dog old? Has he been sick, before he stopped eating? Is he still drinking water? Sounds like he's sick anyway, and you will have to take him to the vet, because you are responsible for his care.

To echo the others. Take him to the vet. He may have something easily treatable that medication or other treatment may make him feel better.
