you can go and check yourself into an recovery hospital, a lot of them will just write it off at the end of the year . You do need to let them know you do not have the money, but you really need the help, and you just may be surprised to find that they will take you in and help you.

There is always a way to find help, if you really try.

Beware the 12-steps. The cycle of the disease model will convince addicts that they are not responsible for choosing to use or abuse alcohol and/or substances. Being responsible is a way toward freedom. Responsibility and freedom are inseparable. Deciding to stop using is the only thing an addict absolutely must do. Everything else is glitter as gold.

San Diego County Department of Health and Human Services is the main resource for assistance in dealing with the effects of drug addiction, housing, employment, etc. See sources below.

Nearly every treatment center in the county and in the country relies on the free services of 12-step programs to offset the cost of alcohol and substance abuse. I suggest that you play the 12-step game, but visit another site: www.orange-papers.org for facts concerning 12-steps. It is my belief that such programs do a great disservice to people trying to make the decision to recover from such addiction by encouraging a lack of personal responsibility, compassion, and professional support. I am extremely biased and hope you can get help with the basics. Food and shelter while you detoxify from methamphetamine.
