Hi there. Sorry for your worries. Some dogs as with other animals and even us don't make good mothers. I've found this more common with mothers that are too young. There are now puppy liquid formulas that you can purchase at many pet stores. You can try to have her feed them to get another week's worth so that they will get passive immunity from colostrum which is present in her milk for the first 2 weeks. Be encouraging and not punitive. This may not work, but is worth a try. The puppies will need to be fed at least every three hours around the clock. Hang in there. They can be weaned at 6 weeks and the feedings can be spaced to every 4 hours at 3 weeks of age until about 5 weeks of age and then put on soft puppy food 2-3 times a day with only 1 formula feeding and progressed to hard puppy food softened with water. Good luck and hang in there.

If a dog (or any other pet) rejects it's babies then the only recourse is for you to hand feed them until they are old enough to feed themselves. Make sure that they are really being rejected before you start this project.
Go to a pet store and get substitute puppy milk and bottles. Follow the instructions on the can or call your vet and ask for the best procedure to follow.
If you have another dog that has just had puppies you could possibly put them with hers and she will feed all of them. Check with your friends to see if they have a nursing dog.

If you know that they're not feeding, you can't "keep trying." You have to step in and help. Puppies that are only a week old may not take to the bottle, so you may actually need to feed them through a tube that's threaded into their stomachs. And, as someone else said, they need to be fed every three hours, round the clock. If this is all too much for you, please call your vet or the humane society, tell them you just can't do it, and ask them for help. It's far better to admit you can't do it today than it would be to just sit there and hope for the best, cause the best, it ain't gonna happen.

Don't pay the puppies more attention than mom. My chihuahuha did the same thing so I started checking on the puppies when I let her out to the bathroom. When she is with the puppies try praising her and telling her stuff like what a good job she is doing and how pretty her pups are, etc. I think mine was just jealous and couldn't figure out why I wasn't the same loving owner as before the pups. Hopefully you have the same problem and it works out. If not it takes a lot more than just a bottle and some milk to nurse them yourself. You have to keep them warm, stimulate them to use the bathroom with a warm wash cloth, etc. It is not easy.

Think about it she spends several months getting fat with no "man" around to comfort her, then she spends several hours in labor trying to push the puppies out (still no male) then she spends the rest of the time feedin.g these selfish needy puppies would you want to keep feeding them?? Mommy dogs sometimes will not want to feed especially first time moms, but you need to force her to go in and lie down with the puppies and let them feed. Eventuallly she will do it on her own She is just going through a Brittney Spears phase (partying after babies)

Make sure your dog gets adequate exercise so she isn't restless. Other than that, if she still isn't letting them feed, you'll have to bottle feed them for the next 5 weeks. You can go to the pet store and get a puppy milk replacement, and follow directions to feed them. It's a pretty demanding job, but you accepted it as soon as you let your dog breed.
As for the dog, get her spayed once the puppies are weaned. It's common of dogs to abandon their litter if they've been bred too young. But even if she wasn't too young, you shouldn't let your dog have another litter if she isn't willing to care for her pups.

Keep trying!!! Sit of the floor and make her comfortable....pet her and put the puppies on her so they can eat. If she refuses to do this, you will need to bottle feed them for 6 weeks at lest. Talk to your vet soon.

Thats when you take all the pups to a vet and get them examined and buy bottles and milk from the vet and then get the mother spayed.
