Easter is not, contrary to popular belief, a Christian holiday. It is a holiday adapted by the early church, with the aim of controlling the populace. Easter is an ancient fertility rite. It was at one time known as Ostara, and celebrates the earths reawakened fertility in spring. The name of Easter comes from the name Eostre, an Anglo-Saxon goddess associated with this holiday. Nearly all of the Christian holidays are rooted in the pagan past.

The second biggest sugar rush of the year.

After all, how can I stay away from all those yummy cadbury eggs that the easter bunny leaves in my basket?

Considering that belief in the easter bunny is equivalent to believing that some guy rose from the dead.

Oh, and by the way? Did you know that celebrating the crucifixion of Jesus on a Friday and his resurrection on a Sunday is "blasphemous" and contrary to the bible? The bible says that Jesus was in the tomb 3 days. If he died Friday evening (as it is suggested that he died at night), then to have spent 3 complete days in the tomb, he wouldn't have resurrected until Monday night. So all you guys think about that when you're celebrating "Good Friday" and "Easter Sunday". Its just another excuse to get a long weekend, and to make people go to church Sunday morning.

Most people think of Easter as being a time when the easter bunny visits and hiding eggs, etc. However, just like some think Christmas is when you just give presents, it does have a real meaning!

Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Likewise, Easter is when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Jesus defeated the devil and death and rose 3 days after his death. This was amazing and I am so glad that to some people Easter hasn't lost its meaning. Hope this helps!

The alleged Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Presently, Christianity is quieting down the possible discoveries regarding a possible Jesus Tomb. They don't want to put the Easter Bunny out of business.
