When you take the Universe as a whole (I'm busy reading Stephen Hawkin's The Universe In A Nutshell), Earth is microscopic next to planets like Jupiter - and that's just in our OWN Solar System... not to mention anything beyond that. So my question is... don't you sometimes feel like we're just too small for God to bother with??

It just seems so pointless, doesn't it? Earth is just so damn insignificant. And humans have these huge egos thinking they actually matter in the bigger scheme of things.

I feel that way more with religious people obsessed with sin. Do they really think there is a God of the universe who is monitoring every little, petty, stupid thing every single person on the planet is doing?

There's an awful lot to creation, that is true, but the fact that we have egos, the reality that we are will creatures means we are significant. We literally get to choose whether or not we want to make a positive contribution in regard to the evolutionary process. We have to be convinced, we take little for granted when it comes to matters of belief, we like evidence, which is a testament to the design of the human species, while I'd be reluctant to claim we're all that's significant, I truly don't feel as though we're any less significant than any other facet of creation. I don't imagine we're to be faulted for being what we're made to be, even if by the same cause we are not to be exalted, we are creatures of ascension, in search of bigger, better faster, we're inspired, or at least we can be, and that is a marvelous thing, underutilized, and at times, maybe perceivably misused, but even that probably isn't much of a bother to God.

I know what you're getting at and I've wondered that myself actually. I don't think we're too small for God to be bothered with. I just remember the movie Bruce Almighty and all the meaningless prayers Bruce was hearing when he was God. THAT has to be annoying but, I'm sure God has more patience than me.

I've grappled with this myself and I think when we (as people) think we're not getting answers to prayers, that kinda means there's a way that we ourselves can get out of it. We're looking for some magic genie sometimes and that ain't God. He doesn't do that. I used to get mad at God all the time and wonder why He didn't help me out every once in awhile. Then I realized I could probably get off my butt and do something proactive instead of waiting for a miracle. That's just simple logic really. I do think God can't be bothered with the petty things. The things we could do for ourselves. I don't think He can't be bothered with us when we're really lost or in need.

Seriously, people demand alot and that is probably bothersome. It's kind of like a kid that never moves out or never gets a job. I'm sure it's annoying to Him. I don't think He ignores us when we truly need Him. That's just my theory. That to me, is more logical than sitting around and waiting for things to happen when I can do them myself. Sitting around accomplishes nothing so you get nothing in return. Pretty basic really.

Allah would not want out prayers, we want Him. And Allah would not get drained or bothered, he's a GOD not a human, so he's previous any human thoughts. Wow you're pathetic. I recommend, we've something we've faith in and we stick to it, and that's that. Your life revolves around attempting to ridicule different individuals for his or her ideals. Get your guy or woman life. is that this what you do for relaxing? Pathetic lol.

Not at all. You think of the precious things we can hold dear. Maybe it is your Mum's engagement ring. It is so tiny. But if you lost it you would be devastated. Each time you look at it, it brings you joy. Why would our Creator care enough to make everything for us to honour us with His best and then not care? That is too illogical for me to conceive. Some of the littlest things in life mean the most to us. And we are made in His image. That means we take on His characteristics too.

Have a great day and be assured the Lord of all Creation knows you, cares for you deeply and loves you more than even your own family does.

Cheers

Lisa

So far as we know it Earth is the only inhabited planet, and maybe so for that very reason...God wouldn't want us to feel "neglected" so he put all his living creations on one planet to easily monitor while the rest of the Universe goes about without needing any more direction.

Well depending on your religon usually not. I will assume you are talking about normal "Christian" values.

A scientific view is that since god is on a different plane he can maniuplate dimensons to slow time to halt, or conform it as he pleases, so he can be everywhere at once.

Otherwise, if you are a bit more traditional.."he's god, he is love, he can do anything because he is god, and he is everywhere always"

This of course assuming that you believe in a higher state of being or simply a higher force (god, alla, etc.)

Hope this helps

"God did not create man, but ancient man who created God". -- Carl Sagan. If you want to expand your perspective, study the History of Civilization at a university, not a religious one. You will learn so much that the religions hide.

I thought that was an accepted fact. Hence the constant effort to find favor with God. But when we are in need--ah--that's a different story. No one is forgotten--especially not girls.

God is all that exists. God is at once the entire universe, and transcends the universe as well.
