You need a ground loop isolator. The noise youre hearing is caused by the other electrical equipment all grounded to the body/frame.
It just goes inbetween the ground wire and body/frame for your radio. They are $10-$20 at radio shack and take about 5 minutes to install.

Depending on what year, make, and model of a vehicle you own determines an answer too. Mainly: Points, condenser, in the distributor parts; spark plugs, and spark plug wires are probably due for a change. Alternator wires may be worn or loose.

sounds like noise from the engine....you need to install a inline noise reducer. normally you see these on aftermarket stereos as a 1" cube on the power line.

any stereo store will carry one or can install one. pretty cheap.

if its a beep then,on some radios they have a setting that you can change to have the beep on or off.you didnt say what brand or model of stereo
