What kind of knee injury do you have? My husband had a knee injury and while it was healing, he was not able to run but he did use the elliptical and play raquetball. The doctor also gave him several exercises to strengthen the knee.

You should try some cardio that is easy on the knees such as the eliptical machine. Just don't let the machine do all the work, really use your arms to pull and push, and that will take the pressure off your legs. Try finding a monkey bar, or some other bar that is out of your reach. Hang from it and slowly pull your legs straight out in front of you. This is the BEST ab workout. The food tips are basic common sense. Don't eat fast food, don't drink soda, don't eat out of a bag, stay away from processed foods and trans fats. Each whole grains (not multi-grains), eat LOTS of fiber (at least 40 grams per day. Try all bran cereal. I eat this plain, put it on salads, and mix it in yogurt), eat fresh salads with spinach instead of lettuce. This is a good way to fill up on healthy foods. Salads rock. Try putting walnuts, grapes, cranberries, cherry tomatoes, boiled eggs, cucumbers, etc on your salads. You will find that these things add enough flavor that you won't need dressing. If you insist on dressing, eat low fat. Get good at reading labels. If something says 12 grams of fat per 1 tablespoon, it's probably best to stay away from it. Drink at least 1/2 ounce of water for every pound you weigh. And add hand weights to your work outs. Wear a brace on your bad knee, pop an ibuprofen and start buildin git back up! Don't let an injury ruin your health. Rise above and beat it!

If your knee is bugging you, you should try swimming. It is the best for rehab and arthritis because it doesnt put strain on your joints, acl...and all that stuff. I injured my knee a few years back and it hurt for the longest time. Then my friend recommended a supplement pill and it solved the problem within a 2 months. Another friend of mine is using a glucosaminde MLM cream, but those are kinda hard to find. It penetrates to help with discomfort in sore joints, and muscles too! Eating tips??? Eat healthy and take an organic multivitamin. That is your best bet. I have some links. Shout back at dimondld1@yahoo.com and I might be able to help you further!

Change to an activity not stressful on the knee. I was a top Judoka, having also injured a knee. I've had a knee-replacement operation 9 months ago. I am now in the Congo where I walked daily approximately 10km, up and down muddy footpaths, wading through tall grass and riverines, swimming in rivers, I assisted in reconstructing a make-shift bridge that washed away - and I never had any pain or experienced any problems with the replacement prosthesis.
You can work-out in a gym, they will guide you. Good luck.

yes man...special K diet really works... trust me...just to loose fat though, to gain muscle u have to use weights. the special k diet with the cereal... no the energy bars. follow the diet plan on the back of the cereal box for only the cereal. Trust me it really works. If u excercise along with that diet, ull lose at least 10 lbs. in a month. Good luck man!

The best treatment for the athlete is to heal the injured ligament back to 100 percent as quickly as possible. There is only one treatment that can do this. That treatment is Prolotherapy.

bicycling or swimming are great cardio exercizes and MUCH easier on the old bod than running. Buy a mountain bike. You won't regret it.
