Demonstrations at home further the Al-Qaeda Terrorists (insurgents as thee American media calls them) beliefs that they are winning the war. It pushes them to attack harder. The deadliest months have always been after major protests. Expect April to be ugly for us troops as "Americans" take to the streets to protest the 4th Anniversary of the invasion. These people place ideals over the value of human lives.
Were that not true, they would protest DMV offices and push to abolish High School Driver's Ed classes. Over 3000 sixteen & seventeen year olds die on American roads each year. If these liberals had any truth to what they say, they would protest harder to keep teens from driving than stopping enlistments.
They hope to stop enlistments in order to create a draft. There is no conscript Army right now. Every soldier is free to leave and not deploy. All we have to do is claim Conscientous Objector status and we won't go, and we all know that. Yet, reenlistment in Iraq is up to over 125% of the entire Army's year expectations, and this is only March. If a draft were to occur, than it would be true that there are Soldiers in Iraq that don't believe in the reasons they are there. Were I 18 and afraid to serve, I would send everyone I knew to enlist, so I wouldn't have to serve.
When someone asks you to protest, are they really concerned about the Soldiers, or their ideals. If it is the Soldiers, then they are Patriotic. If it is their ideals, then they are aiding the enemy.
Know the difference.

maybe the soldiers over there on either side are just going along for the ride because of this thought that if they do this for thier goverment then the people in thier country will praise them etc,
i mean it is a brave thing to stand up for your country but realistically the goverment can not be an account for everyone, they are just numbers of men going over there killing people they could of even been best friends with, it just saddens me because the goverment does not care,
why dont they put on a uniform and fight for thier damn country, no they dont but sit where things are safe and open thier mouths because they have the power to say what they want..."cowards" people like this shouldnt be in parlament and its only a matter of time when they will be assassinated just like the rest......
i mean ok people are comming into your country to kill you, what do you do....... thats the decision the goverments need address before he goes out and orders young men to kill the enemny when they should be really thinking about what they can do nutrelize the situation , theres is no other way.
another thing what ever happens on one side of the world has nothing to do with any other Tom dik or harry so why do these damn goverments stick there noses in somewhere it doesnt belong... i feel so sorry for those families who have lost a loved one to these false promises of justice
"GOD BLESS"..........PEACE

My goodness, you actually don't know why we're in Iraq?
Your ignorance is sickening.
"What did Iraq do?" Are you kidding?
Anyway,
The point was to depose Saddam and set-up a stable government.
Saddam attempted on several occasions to wipe out entire races of people. He had also stock-pile weapons of mass destruction (mostly biological weapons) apparently intending to use them on neighboring nations and/or sell them to terrorist groups (not like he hasn't done it before).
My family members that serve in Iraq have specifically asked that we DON'T go to any "send the troops home" rallys. This emboldens the enemy and lowers troop morale.
Think of it like this:
How would you like to be away from your loved ones for months at a time, and then see them on TV saying that the cause you're fighting for is stupid and that the deaths of your comrades where meaningless?
P.S. CJ, I've only seen 2 posts by you, but I like ya' already. Gingrich & Hannity 2012? Maybe.

I am currently fighting for a free and sovereign Iraq. If our goal was to stay here and take over Iraq, then it would be an invasion. But we're not fighting the Iraqi Army, as we did when we invaded Korea, and Germany, and Japan, and others. We're fighting the terrorists who would like to take over Iraq themselves. They want us gone because we make it impossible for them to do that.
I love serving my country, and I've never been stationed at home, so the army basically can send me back home. It would be a great disservice to the Iraqi people if we let the insurgents take over, especially since the Iraqi Army is finally making definite progress.

Are you Saddam Hussein's buddy? Think terrorizing your neighbors is a good thing? Think a monster with an atomic bomb is good to have living next door to you?
You know nothing about soldiers, or soldiering. You know nothing of the situation in the Middle East because you're obviously too lazy to look it up and get the facts. Or you're too brainwashed by liberals, and it wouldn't matter if you got the truth or not.
The soldiers are commited to their mission. And they serve so that idiots like you can sit in the comfort of your home and shoot off your big mouth.

You will get a million different answers. Even as a veteran, It appears that the American soldier fights for the Military Industrial complex. There are so many countries that have huge problems that we steer clear of.
Answer the question that begs to be asked.
1. Who has the power to initialize the occupation?
2. Who benefits most?
3. What attractive benefits does the region hold to make it worthwhile?
I hope some idiot doesn't come on and scream freedom...that B.S. excuse should have died in Vietnam

A soldiers job is to protect our country, protect the people, protect the constitution. They are fighting so that when we drive to work or school we don't have to worry about an IED.So we can be safe when we go out and not worry about a suicide bomber. They are fighting so that we don't have to worry about being safe. Its their job to protect us.Its amazing they fight for ingrateful f***s like you!Every Marine,Sailor,Airman, soldier is fighting to protect you even though they will probobly never meet you.Be thankful that they have your back.

US Soldiers fight because they have orders to fight. They are professionals who in the presence of lawful orders are carrying them out.
Your opinion. My Opinion. Donald Duck's opinion. They all mean squat to them.
They have orders and they are executing them. Period.
