Dude, it's not a prison at all. It's absolute and total freedom to know that we can ask God to forgive us for our rebellion against Him and for Him to allow us to know Him and to share in His joy forever. Sure, we're nothing without Him, but since He can fulfill our reason for living and give us eternal life, it's not as if we're stuck being nothing. He offers us the most incredible life imaginable if we'll just accept His terms and let Him lead our lives. He's not keeping us in a prison--He's showing us the way out of it. Check out the first link below for a little bit about my life--I've found freedom through Christ that I never imagined existed. And I'm committing my life to sharing that hope with others as well.

No offence, but you are ignorant. I will counter every statement you've made:
1. That's how you see it. However, just because there's rules you need to follow doesn't mean following them is torture. As a matter of fact, he gave us many different things so we weren't miserable. Nature, love, friendship, pets, and the ability to think rationally. Besides, he wants you to go to heaven, so he made these rules so you can enjoy eternal life.
2. Of course it does. If it didn't, you'd more than likely be worshipping him. That unpleasant feeling is also good to have because then you'll be even more inspired to follow God. It can make sure you try not to give in to Satan's temptations.
3. Of course there's people who are going to criticise you for your beliefs. Then again, how is that different from other kinds of criticism. There's sexism, racism, political criticism, etc...
4. Not necessarily. Knowing that God is always watching over you can also feel comforting. It's a matter of opinion. I say if he's always watching over you, you're always protected.
5. Well of course! After all, he did create us. Everything you see and do is all because of God. That doesn't mean you should believe your nothing period. He loves you in every way. He just wants to protect you. All that means is that God is the most important being in the universe. Why? Because he created everything.
6. Now that is a crock of crap!!! That statement couldn't be further from the truth! Of course there's good in the world. If there weren't any good people, what would be the point of heaven? What is true is that everyone does bad things. That's because everyone sins. Only one man in history was perfect in every way. That man was Jesus Christ.
Now I pray that I was able to enlighten you today. I didn't believe you were stupid, you were simply misinformed.

What is not important is the God thing! Spirituality is life, and loving and respecting life. Animals do it all the time. Just spend some time looking at them. They are not dead until they are dead. So humans are the same. We worry so much about life, but life loves us and is as giving as it can be in an imperfect setting.
We create life, love and God for that matter. It claims all the imagination in the world to pull it off, but somehow, you know down deep inside that life is a good thing. Living is a good things. The dead are not gone. The unborn are not unreal.
We all go to heaven, but it is crazy to not enjoy life before you get to heaven.
Living well, loving others and self, giving to people in need is very possible and you can do it all. So just do it!
Jesus was loving, first!

I have met some very enlightened Christians. Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is within you." If you really believe you are saved, then you have no worries. All you have to do is be kind and have compassion. If you don't judge, you're not going to be judged. Nothing else is needed. "Look at the lilies of the field; they neither sow nor reap. Yet Solomon in all his splendor was never arrayed like one of these." There's no need to win at work, or at war, or anything at all because you already have all you need, which is salvation. The devil works for God, whether he knows it or not. Whenever I've encountered him I say sincerely, "Hello, radiant being of Light. You've become confused and need a hug, don't you." He can't wait to leave. Unfortunately, almost no one is truly Christian. They don 't really believe that the two most important commandments according to Jesus, which are: 1. Love God with all your mind, heart and soul and 2. Love your neighbor as yourself are really true. It's not good enough for them because they still have hatred and fear within them, in spite of being saved. I think very few have any faith in the words of Jesus. If Jesus thought we were all good enough to die for, then how can Christians doubt it. It may be observed that our existence is completely interdependent, so being nothing by ourselves does not need to be taught, it is merely correct. I pray for God to watch over me, not to protect me from anything outside myself, but to help me notice when I am being an idiot. Keep on looking, puppy. There's more to it than you currently see. I suggest you look past what you've been told, and go straight to the source for help. He cannot resist helping you. He thinks you're adorable.

You're contradicting yourself....
1.If you follow the commandments you have peace of mind.
2.If you feel guilty.
3.What? When someone calls you an idiot do you always believe them?
4.It's a comfort to know a perfect being loves me and cares about me.
5.Ah...but we are His greatest creation and with God we can become like Him.
6. Not really. We're here to grow to become better people. That offers me drive not hell.
If you don't believe in God...how can you believe in hell?

People just seem to get some distorted pleasure of being caught up in a guilt trip... living in their imaginary hell brings them pleasure. Life is the most beautiful trip that nature can bestow upon us; blue sky's, furry animals, some really great people. Christians seem to be preoccupied with sending all dissidents to hell and playing musical chairs to be seated next to god while the wonders of this universe pass them by. To answer your question: yes they are in hell, but it's of their own making

Welcome back to the forum. It's been awhile since you've posted, and I'd hoped that maybe you'd found some peace. Apparently not. So we'll start all over from square one to explain the truth of life in Christ to you.
God is our loving Father in Heaven, for those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. There is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus. He is not our judge, but our Father and our King.
Knowing that the devil exists gives us the knowledge we need to overcome him. Those who don't believe in him are vulnerable to his schemes.
People have been saying for centuries that there is no God. Why should their opinions bother me? Those who have fought the hardest against Him are dust and bones now, but He is still the sovereign Lord of the universe.
Knowing that God is in control of everything that happens gives us a sense of peace and joy that the world will never know. It's precisely because He is watching over us that we don't have to worry about someone being out to get us.
We are taught that we are children of God, a royal priesthood, and adopted members of the family of God. We know that God loves us and that we are all important to Him.
And finally, we are taught that God is good and His creation is good. We are to love one another and care for the world that He has placed in our hands. That sounds like Heaven to those of us who love and serve the Lord.
If you ever join us, you'll understand that. Otherwise, you're going to continue in your anger and bitterness until it consumes you.

You're bitter & cynical and you're blaming God/religion for that. Way to own up to the mistakes you've made and continue to make. If you don't want to believe in God, good for you. Are you that desperate for attention that you have to go out of your way to insult people who do? Does it really affect you that much? If what others believe affects you, you need to get a life. You're not going to change anyone's mind with these rants just like over zealous religious people don't win anyone over. Quit doing what fundies do and stop ranting. It serves no purpose. Get a blog if you're so determined to spread your weird opinions. I've heard worse and been moved by less. Get over yourself. You're not enlightening anyone and you're not dropping any knowledge. You obviously need to hold onto all that you can grasp. You need it.

Black: Some mighty powerful words from a person, who claims to know so much about God. Did you have a religiously abusive up-bringing ... perhaps ? You list your understanding of theology as if you know what each and every Christian practices - YOU are WRONG !!! Your generalizations illustrate to the truly converted your lack of understanding regarding the issue of TRUE and GENUINE Christianity !!!

God's cool, it the religions that mess things up. Just look at what is going on in the World because of lack of agreement on the part of the religions.
