My bf is amazing.he's sweet, caring, intelligent, and makes me feel amazing.....but lately he's been making fun of me....like he makes me feel stupid and not capable of doing certain things because im not smart enouch.Im a junior, and im taking an AP test, but i havent been really doing good in the class for that subject because i really dont do my work.but i kno if i did i would have a good grade. Well basically this is what he said "Why are you even taking that test if your grades are bad? Your not gonna do good, because your not a critical thinker, like me. I bet you im gonna do better than you."
umm.....maybe this is stupid and i should get over it...iono what to do. But lately he's been making little comments like this....or he criticizes me...what should I do.

Even if he might say he's joking he definately means it. He is simply stating the truth and being blunt about it. Just know that knowledge is sepeparte from intellect. Don't show that you're resentful of his comments, but also don't let him get away with speaking to you like that. Ask him to help you than to tease about it.

If he makes those kind of comments I hate to tell you but he's not all that sweet and caring. If any man were to say such things to me, he would end up with my foot in his privates. There is no excuse for any man, boyfriend, or friend to make those comments. He is being nasty and is not helping your self confidence or really caring about you and your feelings.
You don't have to be as "smart" as your partner, but you should not be with someone who loves to point that out.
I will never be as smart as my husband, and I am extremely intelligent, but he is over towards genius level. He pushes me to learn more and helps me when I don't understand something. If he is smarter or well versed in something, well, I want to learn, and he does what he can to teach me, not put me down because I am not the thinker that he is.
Lose the guy and find someone who really appreciates you.

For what it's worth, I took an AP history class in HS. I failed the class but got a 4 out of 5 on the test, so I got college credit but had to finish it in summer school.
I say start talking to other guys and see what he does, if he changes his tune.

well i think he should be supportive of you and try to help, he thinks that he's good at it, well he should help you study. If you don't like the way he talks to you then put your foot down and tell him to quit because it hurts your feelings. If he don't quit, then leave him. There is a difference between constructive criticism and being mean. Sounds like he's doing both. You can do good, just put your mind to it and study, and you will do amazing.

he seems to have low self esteem and needs to put you down to feel better about himself....tell him you dont appreciate when he makes fun of you even if he is joking. he probably doesnt realize it hurts your feelings a lot of guys will say "geez I was just joking around, calm down"....if he doesnt stop just think if youd rather be with him and have all those positive things and that negative thing or if you just want to move on

Welll thats not very nice but im sure he joking. Have you told him that you dont like it and how it makes you feel? Maybe you should do that. Good Luck : )

either he is joking and doesnt know u feel bad abt it, else he is a jerk. Best thing is to let him know how u feel. If he doesnt change, dump him.
