I am seriously begining to doubt that any religion is the true religion but that God has palyed a hand in all of them. All religions seem to revolve around the Golden Rule and how applying that concept to life brings harmony/salvation.

So maybe God's true message is woven within every aspect of life including religions.

I think these things too. I don't think there is one and only one true religion, and that only the people of that religion are safe and everyone else is doomed. To me that doesn't make sense. Maybe all the different religions are part of our test. To see what we will do. Which one we will pick and how we will act, once we think we are loved more by God than others. I love God, and I choose to live my life, being the best person I can be. Helping and loving all others. I really don't care what happens to me after death. I will be happiest in life, by living this way, loving and caring for others, not lying, being honest in every aspect, giving all I can. I still need to work on being patient!! Understanding, this is very important to a happy and giving life too. Take bandicoot and good luck.

I would like to agree but cannot accept even the concept of there being a God who wishes us to live in a certain way. There isnt a God, there is nature and we are still trying to understand that. There is an entire universe out there and billions upon billions of stars and planets. To think we are the only planet that has life on it is to deny every aspect of the natural world. Forms of life have been found in the most unexpected places here on earth.
Why did God create all these forms if he isnt interested in them just us humans and if he had a message why hasnt he made it very plain and simple. Why has he allowed others to change the concepts of what is said to be his words. He has allowed all this and people consider him a saviour. I have seen no proof of God at any time or in any of our history and without proof there is only theory and to theorize that God created the univers is to look for a very easy answer.
But lets ride with that theory if God put all his energy into creating the universe why do religous people think he would only put us as the single life form in it. That is just more insanity to me he has the space to create billions of diffrent life forms and see how they all evolved without them ever coming in to caontact with one another. If he has done that then we are just an experiment to him and he probably hasnt set any rules for us but wants us to define our own.
I believe in the religion of truly proved concepts anf facts. That is the church of scientology. The only religion that can save us from ourselves. There is constant infighting between religions as the leaders of these groups want full power and their gods tell them not to want but to give and help others. When the leaders are so hypoctitical in their usage of what they preach through their religion I start to think religions should be banned, but that would take away the right to free thought and speech. So we are lost to fighting religion in the only other way possible. Get science to factually prove we are not the only planet that has life on it and people will come to realize all the books of 2000 years ago are garbage. I am waiting for a probe to land on Europa and that might be the first nail in the coffin of religion as it has bean known on earth.
People are saying the diffrent religions may be a test by God and other gibberish, what happened to Zues and his family. Ehat happened to Loki and his friends. There are many diffrent gods that have been worshipped over time. And they are forever changing as the faith in them dies out,is destroyed or the civilisations that believe in them crumble.
If there was a God why didnt he set a single religion at the begining, we have seen the human evolution with painting and drawing before we could form words. This evolution destroys the concept that God created us and we didnt evolve we where put here by a higher power. The religous believers cant explain ston age man so they deny him.
Lets face it there is no proof of God and if there is a God he is either a sadist or we are just part of a much larger universe for which the purpose is totally unknown.

Religions are all based on philosophical principles like the Golden Rule, sure. But they use these principles to come up with sets of specific rules, with no mechanism for change. The Golden Rule works because it can't become outdated. Applications of the Golden Rule from thousands of years ago are completely pointless, and they're also in direct contrast to the very idea of morality. Religion isn't just 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you', it's 'do these things and don't do those, or you'll burn in hell'.

It's possible that all religions reflect some portion of God's truth, but that doesn't mean all religions are equal, or even useful.

Jesus Christ is the only man who ever claimed to be God, and proved it by raising himself from the dead.

He personally founded one church, and left that church behind on the earth to guide all of mankind to the fullness of his truth and perfection, until he comes again.

That church continues to exist in the world today, and despite the problems it has always experienced with human corruption and weakness, both from within and from without, the truth, and the message of salvation has never changed.

The fullness of all God's truth was entrusted to the only church Jesus ever founded and empowered on the earth ... the universal Christian church ... one, holy, apostolic ... the Catholic Church.

Accept no substitutes, or you might just end up on the wrong side of things, when the end inevitably comes.

I agree.

If we all created by one being who has intended for us to have special purpose we would all strive for the same goal. At the same time, as well intended we all might be...
We would then share the same history such as a great flood that inundates every culture except every culture has tweaked the story a bit. So what's true?

In the Bible, it's consistent in they relationship God created us to have with Him and yet we all linger on our own relationship with Him creating a religion of sorts striving for a goal when really all that is detailed out in the Bible is the relationship He desires with us...
so much that He laid down His life that we could live forever with Him....
