Rachel won on Iron Chef and I think she cooks more realistic food that we can all eat more of the time. Also, they both act over the top but Giada is copying Rachel lately and opening her eyes more and other tricks like that.

Giada can at least COOK. Rachael Ray is annoying, someday she will crack, and while I admire the fact that the food she prepares is accessible to those of us that have to cook to feed ourselves and our families everyday, I don't really need to know how to cook many of the recipes she "invents" (they are basic things I already know how to do, or can figure out from a basic cookbook or recipe website) nor do I want to watch a boring cooking show....I want to look at things I might experiment with once in a while; a celebration dinner or something to include when I want to impress someone. Cooking shows should have some gourmet influence/regional influence. Giada may not be the most authentic Italian chef in the world, but her cooking has a focus; Rachel Ray will try every thing (Americanized, of course) from Greek to...well, Italian. I do like the 40 dollar show though; it's fun to watch. Esp when she buys SANDWICHES you could get in any city or town for lunch, to keep the budget in tact. She has a decent niche, but she is an average cook all the way....and I'd HARDLY call her a chef, or buy her olive oil. I am not annoyed that Nabisco signed her, however. Their crackers are as basic and bland as she is. But I like the fact that there are shows like her 30 minute meals that are practical and aimed toward the INeedtoGetSomethingOntheTable crowd. But this makes her a cook, not a chef. Anyone could do her show.

Rachel Ray has more realistic, economical everyday recipes for real people, but if you want an expensive, exquisite meal, I don't know that I would ask her over Giada.

I cant stand Rachel Ray. Anytime I watch her show I put it on mute, otherwise I get annoyed. Giada is a much better cook, has better dishes, isnt annoying and is much easier on the eyes.

I'm not a big RR fan. I hate her voice. She used VEAL the other day on the show and I about fell off my chair.
Giada's recipes are more interesting and challenging to make in my own kitchen. I'd have to vote for Giada. :-)

I quit watching Food Network because I really cannot stand to watch RR. Giada is actually a trained chef; RR is only a cook.

Alton and Mario Rule!

Rachel Ray's voice IS slightly annoying! and how she continuously says Mmmmm.....! yet between her and Giada, I only might ought to %. her. i don't be attentive to, she only looks way much less complicated to get alongside with. yet don't get me incorrect; i admire Giada, too!
