They are still fed by the parents, but mom laid 3 eggs again which I removed as suggested. The oldest baby tries to fly every chance it gets, with crash landings. The second one is also starting now. They try to climb around the cage, but I don't know if they can find their way back to the nesting box so I put them back. Is it ok? Will the mother be upset if I take away her eggs everytime she lays one? Will she continue to lay eggs as they go missing all the time?
It also seems like they are trying to collect nesting material around the cage, but they have a nesting box already. How long will she continue laying more eggs?

you should (asap) take out the nest the babies will be all right .you don't want the mother to breed right after having babies. you should wait at least 4 months before putting to nest back.if the mom breeds to much in a year she could die of calcium deficiency. the babies will be allright in the cage. i also got three babies .

hi there. Looks like you have your hands full. Peek-a- Boo is right. Over breeding your hen will shorten her life. she may die of egg binding. If you can't sacrifice the new eggs, at least make this her last clutch. Wean the 5 week olds with soft fruit, veggies, cheerios, then add a good pellet food. Eat it in front of them and tell them how delicious it is. They will catch on. Weaning times vary. Feed your hen a good pellet food, fruits and veggies and add cooked egg with crumbled shell for the extra protein, nutrients, and calcium. Remove the nest box when the chicks are out of the nest and remove her mate. Be sure she gets 10-12 hours of darkness a day. For now separate the fledglings from this cage. You must become a responsible owner. She will lay eggs until she dies. You can change this fate. You can also utilize fake eggs in her nest after this clutch. Peek-a-Boo is trying to help you. Find it in your heart to do the right thing. A hen shouldn't be bred to death.

I answered your last question about this. The babies are now fledging (learning to fly) and getting ready to leave the nest. You don't need to put them back in the nest. They need to explore the world, they have to leave sometimes. As suggested before, I told you to remove the nestbox. If you are going to leave the nest box and you don't want her to lay anymore eggs than what you should have done was take her eggs shake them up vigorously freeze them and then bring them back down to the temperture that they were when you took them and place them back into the nest.

i do no longer think of he would be ok. he will sense you have deserted him. Is it no longer achieveable to take him with you? in case you had socialized him this would not be so stressful for HIM. No chook could be a 'one man or woman' chook except the owner created this. restoration this once you come back homestead. you could refer to him and tell him you would be long previous (3 weeks is an fairly long term for a chook) yet which you will return. in case you could call him on an analogous time as you're long previous, which could help. Or bypass away a tape of your voice to him and characteristic your loved ones member play it and spend a while speaking to him. that's a severe time for you and your chook. you're able to do irreparable harm by using leavin him without love - and then lower back, in keeping with risk no longer. human beings tend to decrease what birds prefer and you already understand your chook desires on a daily basis love which he won't have for 3 weeks. What do you think of???
