Yes, and most dogs go through some degree of a false pregnancy after a heat cycle. They are actually very common because dogs are the only known animal that go through the same hormonal changes after a heat weather they are pregnant or not. There is no way to prevent them (other than spaying), but the best way is to just let your dog handle it on their own. There are medications that are supposed to help, but it my experience they are more of a pain than they are worth and the do not help at all.

Yes, I have. I had a cairn terrier to do this. She had milk, the works. Every sign of being pregnant. She had picked out the place where she wanted to have them. My Aunt had a dog, when she came in heat, she would gather stuffed animals as if they were her puppies. After about a week she was done with them...lol Anyway, I wouldn't be real worried, (unless there's a chance of pregnancy) everything will return to normal. Sometimes they have false pregnancies everytime they come in heat, and then sometimes it only happens once.

Ten years ago I rescued a little fox terrier, that had been shot in the head. My son held her all the way to the vet, and said she was so precious, which became her name. We noticed that she was either coming in or going out of heat, she was going out of it, and nothing was done about it as she needed to recover from the shot wound first. Soon enough, she was showing all the signs of pregnancy. Seventy days went by from the day we rescued her, so worrying to death, we scheduled a spay surgery, as, obviously, something was very wrong with her. Thank God we did that, as she was near death from a condition called Pyometra, which is a fatal infection of the uterus.
The vet explained to me that when you have a female dog, unless you're planning to breed her, it's best to spay it, for every time one goes into heat, and does not get pregnant, it's a high risk to develop Pyometra.
Please make sure your dog is okay!

P.S.= Precious is my number one girl, alive and well at 11 years of age :o)

needless to say your vet might desire to allow you to already know. If she became allowed around an intact canines in the time of her warmth, she very possibly is pregnant. fake pregnancies do no longer reason "psychological problems" in canines. it extremely is ridiculous. Why do you prefer to mate her? Is she a conformation champ? you won't have the ability to understand if her genetic screenings will bypass yet as she isn't the right age to have had any yet. It does not sound such as you're a in charge breeder. And confident; whelping even only one muddle makes you a breeder. If she became mated 8 weeks in the past you have approximately ONE WEEK left. you need to have been on the vets weeks in the past as though she is pregnant you have very much compromised her foodstuff and the over all well-being of any domestic dogs that she could be donning. Get her to the vets first factor Monday morning and enable this be a lesson which you're nowhere close to waiting to permit her to reproduce.

Years ago I had a cocker spaniel that thought she was pregnant. I think the vet called it a phantom pregnancy. It was a nuisance but she eventually got past it.

Ooooooh yes. she put on the weight, boobs filled out, started to do a bit of nesting a few days before due, got all nervous on the day and nuthing happened that day or any other day. she just lost the weight and boobs and is back to normal. pups are worth 1000$ each so its a real let down.

you shouldn't be giving her the oppertunity to get her pregnant. All cats and dogs should be fixed and the only reason why they are bread is to make $ off of them. Puppy Mills are wrong.
