There are so many words that are from other languages that are adapted into the english language. All this is because english is a mixed of german, french, dutch, spanish, latin, greek and the norwegians, etc, etc. The best bet for you is to go look in the dictionary, it will tell you what the origin of the language is.

There are thousands and thousands of words that have been adapted into English. Here is a really good site that has many many words and they are even categorized according to their language of origin. E.g. bandanna, cheetah and shampoo all come from the Hindi language. Awesome.
