Not only does an individual need to feel the desire to serve God or preach his Gospel, he has to be "called" and given authority.
See Hebrews 5:4.
It would be similar to a man, wanting to purchase something with money, and he uses a counterfeit bill instead of genuine legal currency. It may look and feel like the real thing, but it is not. The same with priesthood authority. If it is not real, it is not real. It may look real, and the user may have a sincere desire to use it, but if it is not real, it is not real.
You need genuine authority from God to preach with his authority.

Unfortunately, yes. Anyone can go to divinity school or a bible college, get a degree, and become a priest, minister, etc.
My pastor is not one of those people. As proof, the ministry is celebrating 37 years in the same city with the same pastor and no church splits. As further proof, many healings and miracles have happened by the awesome power of God in this ministry.
There is nothing wrong with gaining more knowledge and wisdom and understanding by attending these various places of acedemics, but I feel that if God calls you to go and preach the Good News, you should go.
Another way of knowing the ones annoionted from those playing, examine the "fruit" being produced.

sadly enough, there are many who 'go to college and wallah'... just because they didnt know what else to do...
I think it takes a calling by God... and desire planted deep in the heart of whoever God is calling... taht no matter what they decide to do in life, that desire is still there... even when 'they' choose their own path...
I do not believe that the need laying on of hands.... and God calls each to pastor in their own ways, with their own giftings...
the authority comes from God alone... when God speaks this into being, the person who is being called knows... and most of the time.... they know it is God cuz it is NOT what they themselves want... and the true pastors I know often went about doing other things for a bit until they decided to listen to the Lord

yes, there are all sorts of fake teachers and prophets. Jesus and his disciples warned about them. They are more accountable to do so and if they are leading people astray, they will be judged more harshly at the judgement. God is fair. Just go to a bible believing church that teaches what is in the bible, not opinion and compromising with evil.

If you ain't got it, you just ain't got it. A true pastor, apostle, evangelist is touched and called by God. For those who go to college to be "educated" in preaching and teaching, it just doesn't cut it. Man has to be touched by the Holy Spirit to effectively and truthfully minister to others.

What's a "wallah"? Is that somewhere you study for the priesthood in some religions?

"Wallah" makes me angry. If you're going to use French, learn how to spell it.
