Oh, that is such a lovely compliment, if someone said that to me, I would be walking on air for a long time.
It means you have given them the strength, energy and power to continue living in a positive and fruitful way or to be creative in their life or to change their life in a positive way. to make them see that life and the world is beautiful (even if some people try hard not to make it so)

That's generally very good, but it sort of can depend on what the inspiration is.

For example, if you inspire someone to go do volunteer work or pursue education? Good. If you inspire someone to throw dishwashers off the skyscrapers? Well, I could go either way on that. If you inspire someone to steal money, that's bad.

To be inspiring to others is generally a phrasing for praise,,, However it is not equal to the gladness which come from perfection, though it is the loftiest human [rational soul] standard of guidance, standing along side reason...

"Is any larger bounty conceivable than this, that an individual, looking within himself, should find that by the confirming grace of God he has become the cause of peace and well-being, of happiness and advantage to his fellow men? No, by the one true God, there is no greater bliss, no more complete delight."

(Abdu'l-Baha, The Secret of Divine Civilization, p. 1)

Below is an excerpt on the standards of human knowledge vs the Infallible Perfection, which is God, and Guidance of the Spirit. This standard of reference is absolutely necessary for truly selfless acts to be consciously known, and not merely imagined.

"...The fourth criterion I have named is inspiration through which it is claimed the reality of knowledge is attainable. What is inspiration? It is the influx of the human heart. But what are satanic promptings which afflict mankind? They are the influx of the heart also. How shall we differentiate between them? The question arises, How shall we know whether we are following inspiration from God or satanic promptings of the human soul? Briefly, the point is that in the human material world of phenomena these four are the only existing criterions or avenues of knowledge, and all of them are faulty and unreliable. What then remains? How shall we attain the reality of knowledge? By the breaths and promptings of the Holy Spirit which is light and knowledge Itself. Through it the human mind is quickened and fortified into true conclusions and perfect knowledge. This is conclusive argument showing that all available human criterions are erroneous and defective, but the divine standard of knowledge is infallible. Therefore man is not justified in saying: "I know because I perceive through my senses"; or: "I know because it is proved through my faculty of reason"; or: "I know because it is according to tradition and interpretation of the holy book"; or: "I know because I am inspired." All human standard of judgment is faulty, finite."

(Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith - Abdu'l-Baha Section, p. 252)

I do not wish to sadden you, only inform that infinite hope for others can't come by means of limited person, but only the Unlimited, whose gladness we are more pleased to share equally among all, than ourselves, especially to the persons we know, ideally to leave none in lack from us, but all in plenteous joy from All-Providing.

God bless.
