I moved to the south last year from NY. I definitely noticed that folks here are much more vocal about their faith. Folks have more religious bumper stickers on their cars and attend church much more often.
As a pagan, I have not gotten any flack about not going to church here. While religion is a very important topic, I think that it's the whacked out fundies that are making the most noise.
