God is within us, God is our mind and heart speak.
If we dont realise the mistakes we make, who will correct us?
If everyone realises that others should not be hurt, there will not be any theif, in turn, no police, no advocates, judges...
If everyone realises their mistakes there will not be any aduletration of mixing things and rising prices, corruption...
If at all you feel God is an external power and not within, God punishes after death, you take another janma(re-birth) and the effect of the rebirth decides if you are a rich guy, poor guy, animal, how you die...
It is sometimes that people often ask themselves the question that you've asked(an excellent question indeed) and commit murders and brutally hurt people.
According to an Iraqi person what US president does might be wrong and a flight can destroy worlds tallest buildings, but, at the same time, what a US president does to Iraqi might be right to US citizens.
What is good for you is bad for others, what is bad for others, is good for you.So, who decides Good or Bad? And only after you decide if its good/bad, can you punish.
Trust in yourself. You be good, do good. If each and every individual thinks the same, the earth would be a wonderful place to live in.

God truly wants to have an intimate relationship which each and every one of us. He waits, because to have a relationship with someone you cannot control them, they must enter into the relationship under their own free will.
The bible states that man was created in the image of God. This does not refer to our physical appearance, but rther to our nature. People desire to be in intimate relationships just like God.
