Where is the cheapest place I can buy a fence kit and what material is the cheapest? pros and cons?

My son is 3, I would feel safer if we had a fence in our front yard for him. I really can't afford a ton of money. I got an estimate from a local company and their estimate was $3,000 yikes. My yard isn't that big! thanks for any info about a fence.

Fence in the front yard may be a problem with local zoning. here are the chain link fences you can go with. They are even made out of plastic for long life. Just get a post-hole digger and lay it out and string the fencing up.
