VYASA was a sage and never indulged in any crime.but VALMIKI was a thief.Only by the thought provoking words of NARADHA he realised the truth.Since both of them have written an EPIC,whose words are more wiser?
whose words have more power in it?How was Valmiki absolved from his blames and sins?

Vyasas words have more power than Valmiki.
The answer is there in your question itself. Vyasa was a sage, brahmin family. He has additional powers inherited from his parents by birth. Valmiki was a halfway turned author.
Vyasa has more power because even the Lords bow to him.
Indra, the God of the Heaven salutes him in slokas that you would have heard. Valimiki has no mention other than Ramayana.
Vyasa is a part of the Saptarishi mandalam(Great Bear constellation), Valmiki is just with Ramanand Sagar : )
Hope, this is convincing, I'm very happy about answering such a nice question from you. Not many people discuss about mythology, I appreciate your interest in it. take care.

Vyasa was more practical in inner practise of realization which is a source of all knowledge while Valmiki was sort of social reformer at primitive stage. Both are equally important to a social person. Valmiki for foundation of virtues and Vyasa for destiny by virtues. It is like, A, B, C, D of first standard and graduation or last degree. Without first standard you can't become graduate and without graduation you won't achieve degree of wisdom.

The efficacy of repeating the name 'Rama' has turned Valmiki into a saint. The process of repeating the name absolved him from his sins. That is why He could write 'Ramayana' the epic. As for Vyasa is concerned, He is considered as an embodiment of Shri Vishnu. He wrote Mahabharata which contain 'Bagawat Gita' as well as 'Vishnu Sahasranama. Vyasa codified the Vedas. In spite of all this he could not get peace of mind. Then Naradha told him to write 'Bagawatam' the story of Divine Leela's of Shri Krishna. After that only he could get peace of mind. Regarding the power of words, we are not competent to decide since we have not acquired the status of both. Then only we can comment about the greatness of power. I can only say that both the epics are classics and possess their own power of liberating the human beings from this human existence. nagarajan.

Why do u want to compare both. They are great in their own way. If one wants to say Valimiki was thief earlier, to whom Vyasa was born? To a fisher woman that too unmarried due to the lust of Sage Parasara. during broad day light?

Better let us not look into their back grounds. Only look into what THEY have given.

Sugar cane is sweet. Honey is sweet. Mango fruit is also sweet. Can we say all are same. They are different in their own way. Can any one explain the difference between the 3 sweetness es.?

One must read the works of both the people and try to understand their contribution instead of taking judgement into our hands.
