he is the sweetest boi in the world i love his personality but not his looks i feel i am being shallow so should i give him a chance sometimes i figure why not?

It's amazing how a great personality can make a person physically attractive. In any case, the physical looks of a partner become much less of an issue once you've been together for a while. A personality will make a relationship last, while looks can only grab initial attention.
Give him a chance.

Remain his friend for a while and see how it goes. If you start to date him now and you come across some guy that you find really attractive you know that you are going to go out with this new attractive guy and either forget about the other dude or maybe you will feel guilty about it.
No one should ever rush into anything or have to go with the flow. Take your time and you will find out eventually how you fell about him.

Beauty comes from within. Perhaps if you get to know him more you soon you will also see he's not so bad after all and actually quite cute from the outside. What if someone chose not to like you only because of your looks? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as well.

Go for it, if he makes you happy than he will look good to you eventually anyway. Plus sometimes people who were once no the greatest looking develop their style with time as well.
