I am a minister. I am self-employed for social-security purposes and employed by the church for income tax purposes. This is known as Dual status.

Do I report my salary on Line 2 of Long Form Schedule SE and on line 8a?

You will probably have to pull up the Form Schedule SE to answer my question so here is a link:

See page 2.

Any help is appreciated. If you need more info, simply request it in your answer or EMAIL me. Thanks.

I know that this is the WRONG category BUT I also know there is a huge variety of people in this category and have a decent chance of getting an answer from someone who actually knows.

I'm not yet receiving a salary in my ministry, but because of the complexity of the tax system, your best bet would probably be to call the IRS directly at 1-800-829-1040 or 1-800-829-3676. Or make an appointment with a local CPA who knows current tax law.
