I haven't had much trouble losing weight when I needed to but the stretch marks are very difficult to lose. I'm actually dealing with that problem myself at the moment. It is discouraging when you feel like you lost weight and your body looks really good but the stretch marks look horrible!
I personally walk 30 - 60 mins a day, do some weight bearing exercise (this increases your metabolism) I cut all junk food, eating lean meats, vegs and complex carbs (fiber).
You definitly have to cut the simple carbs. Look for fiber content of pastas, grains, breads etc. Eat smaller amounts more often. A tid bit of info for you.. 3500 calories is = to 1lb. so for every 3500 cals burned or cut in cal intake you will lose a lb. You can e-mail me if you need some support.

Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.
To clear stretch marks use palmer cocoa butter formula with vitamin E
I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.
there's a video on success fitness too.

Change your diet. Now. Take out all soda/junk food. Any food that has calories of over 70 per serving with no nutritional value/vitamins is BAD. Get RID of it.
Take a multivitamin with Selenium like Centrium's Weight Smart.
Maybe, you can also try Hydroxycut...it helps control hunger pangs, and has caffiene which gives you a temporary boost in Calorie burning, but I dunno about that. Use in moderation.
The MAIN thing is to add some toned muscle and become aerobically fit: Exercize. Do cardio at the very least. Losing fat is all about your metabolism.
This is also personal information I've gathered from reading over the last few months. I've lost 15lbs and am in much better shape than I was.

I'm not sure about the stretch marks, I know there's a cream for that, that's used by pregnant women, but you can lose the 20 lbs permanently by permanently changing your eating habits and physical activity. As far as I know there is no easy way to make 20 lbs melt off. Sorry, and good luck!
