God doesn't exist.
There is a lot of evidence, through the history of the religions, themselves, that all gods are man-made. There is also a lot of evidence in studies of human nature that show how we make up such gods.
However, that won't prevent people from attributing their feelings about things to some god telling them stuff. People will even claim to have a "relationship" with their invisible friend. However, it really is just feeling and emotional attachment to an idea.

I have studied the scriptures a whole lot. I've read some books of the Bible perhaps 10-20 times. After all my studying and analyzation I can only come to one conclusion:
The scriptures could not have been created by a human mind and it must have been divinely inspired. To say that the Bible was made by a human mind is absolute foolishness and I can guarantee that the person who makes this statement has not read the scriptures carefully enough to understand it. The scriptures are very intelligently crafted and has the finger of God stamped all over it. The Bible is written in a symbolic nature and has different depths of spiritual meaning and understanding. If you search for God through the scriptures you will find him. If you reject Him you will not understand the Bible and it will be to you a piece of nonsense.

I believe in God because of the hard evidence he exists: in the order of nature and the universe, man's superior intelligence and moral conscience. But the most incontrovertible proof of his existence is no other than Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son and the second Person in the Holy Trinity. He was sent by his Father not only to save and reconcile mankind. He was also sent so that men may come to know God. What human can:
Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and fish in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Bring back dead people to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
Rise from the dead?
These miracles prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Jesus is what he claimed to be - God. They demonstrate Christ's power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can have such powers.
And if these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not have grown by leaps and bounds in the first century. Many people witnessed these miracles. The resurrection of Jesus cannot be silenced because more than 500 people saw his resurrected body.
May the Lord's peace be with you!

When God said put no other gods before me, that means idols. Any body can say that a statue is a god or a person being a god. Look what Aaron did when Moses went up on the mountain to get the Ten Commandments, he built a golden calf and was worshiping it.

The Bible makes it pretty clear that there is only one God. "God" can refer to more than just dieties. Money, women, posessions, and pleasure can all become things you look to as idols. God wants us to have Him as number one in our lives.
The rest of this response is my answer to another similar question:
During the course of human history, man has sought to understand his surroundings. Given an inherent knowledge of cause and effect, man must think that there was a single cause that brought the world into being. Some say matter has always been and the Big Bang caused everything to happen. Others believe spirits have always existed and they created the earth and the universe. I believe God has always been and created the earth and the universe.
Christians believe in two types of revelation: general and specific. General revelation is all the observables we have in front of us. Stars, unique creatures, the beauty of everything that surrounds us... We claim from this that SOMETHING had to have created all of this. Specific revelation is that which came from God, which would be the Bible. We believe the Bible to be the words of God. How can we believe such a stupid thing?
For one, we know what care the scribes took when copying the Bible. Each line had to have a certain number of letters, each letter had to fit strict tolerances for size, each page had to have a certain number of lines that was counted over and over, the scribes could not copy from memory, and they had to pen each letter in one at a time, referring to the original being copied from for each letter. If an error was ever found, the whole book was burned.
Christians also have the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The tomb was guarded by Roman guards whose lives depended on them staying awake and at their posts (they could be executed if they didn't do as they were told). The tomb was sealed by a Roman seal. If anyone were to open the tomb they could be punished by death. Jesus Christ was wrapped in over a hundred pounds of cloth, herbs, and spices as per the burial customs of the time. On the cross after he died, his heart was pierced by a spear and blood and water flowed from his heart. We know now that this could mean he died of shock. In any case, he was dead.. no doubt about it. The Roman authorities would not have taken the body. Even if they did, they could have reproduced it to prove that he was indeed dead. After the body was "stolen," the guards were paid to claim that the disciples overpowered them and took the body. Even if the disciples somehow did manage to steal the body and claim that Jesus Christ had risen, how did five hundred followers of Christ throughout the land claim they had seen the risen Lord within a short timespan? More importantly, why would a group of people risk their lives, and eventually die for a cause they knew for certain was a complete lie?

How do I know He does not exist?
I know he exists because I feel him all around me.
When you deal with the notion of faith, you cannot refer to it as something obejective, able to be quantified.
You either believe it is so in which case He exists or you do not believe it in which case (for you) He does not exists.
Either way it makes no difference because the universe was there long before the first human walked on this Earth and it will be there long after the last human got extinct.

Well to quote the bible again:
Straight is the path and narrow is the "Gate" that leads to the Kingdom of Heaven and few who make it therein, and crooked is the path and wide is the gate that leadeth to destruction and many that fall therein".
It also states: that the true believers will hear a voice from behind them saying "this is the way walk ye in it"

I know God exists because He is everywhere. We feel His loving presence in people when they care for us. We see His power in nature when we look at the trees, flowers, lakes, seas, mountains, rivers, etc. Creation shouts to us about the existence of God. We know He is there because the sun, moon and stars do not collide with each other. He keeps the order in the universe. He sustains us every second of our life. He gives us our every breath. He feeds us and clothes us and gives us our gifts. He lives in you and me. He gave us brains to make things like computers, cellphones, buildings, etc. We talk to Him in prayer and He speaks to us. He answers our prayers as a loving Father does. He protects us from the evil one. He gives us immense blessings everyday. He gave us Jesus to be our brother and Mary as our mother. We are His family. Our minds are made for the truth. Our intellects know if we know the truth or not. So many people believe in Him because they know He exists. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know there is a God. We only need to be humble to ackowledge that our gifts and universe must have come from some Supreme Intelligence way beyond our small puny minds. That Supreme Being is God.

John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching you are really my disciples, then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
When you hold to God's teaching, then and only then will you know the truth and be set free. It's kind of like(but not entirely like) a money back 90 day trial offer. God says try it out and you will see.
I have seen God answer many prayers that could not have been coincidence.

In the ancient world very few people believed that their god was the "true" god - quite the contrary. The whole "true God" concept was the product of the Mystery religions. They believed that all gods were one God, and thus that their god was the one and only true God. But that did not imply that their religion was exclusive - they just assumed that all of the other religions were confused about the universiality of God.
