not one of the above. in undemanding words the diesel engine achieves temperatures severe adequate to oxidize nitrogen. gas engines, jet engines, and exterior combustion engines (i.e. steam boilers) can't benefit the necessary temperatures. there is little or no nitrogen tied up in fossil fuels to be both released or oxidized in combustion.
