Good match up Nunn was too good at 160 even for a legend like Ray leonard. As you said they were close to fighting but from what ive heard it was Leonard who pulled out. At middleweight and above he tended to hand pick his opponents a bit after beating Hagler so i think he knew that Nunn was too young and much of a threat to risk fighting.

Nunn is a natural middleweight. Ray is a natural welterweight. Nunn will have a slight power edge, Ray the speed. Leonard wins by decision.

Ray had trouble against bigger fighters, but did what he had to do to beat them. Nunn was a sound boxer with good power, but I can't see a boring methodical boxer beating the explosive speed of one of the Greats. The blogbaba can't see good big man beating a great little man. If Ray beat the likes of Hagler & Hearns, I just don't see Michael Nunn beating Ray.

Leonard by decision.

If you're talking about them fighting in 88 then I'd have to say that Nuun would beat SRL. The 88 Nunn was a great fighter and a lot bigger than Ray. I know that LaLonde was also bigger than Ray but Nunn ain't Donny.

Nunn.Leonard above 160 was vulnerable, and Nunn had the juice to deal with him.
