THe only remedy is to keep her away from chocolate in the future. She'll be fine this time, but you don't know what might happen next time.

WATER WATER WATER ! I would say that my dog did just about the same thing. Only she ate a 5lb bag of M&M's. It was
x-mas and I had been home from work that day when a friend came and I left to go to the store with her. All day this candy had been right in ft of the dog and I. Not even once did she try to eat any of them. Long story short when I got back there were 3 left in the bowl...".WOW" who would of thought ....any how I called the vet, cause I didnt have money to take her there. He said to make sure that I made her drink untill she was going to pop. She threw up all night and well into the next day. It could have killed her. She too was a small dog. and a lucky little girl to. She lived 22 years and I really miss her. Good luck I hope she is doing ok.

I don't think it is necessary to do anything but keep an eye on her. I doubt the amount of chocolate in the frosting off a single piece of cake would be enough to harm her.
My one Boston Terrier stole a chocolate cookie with chocolate frosting once- my mom called the vet and was told to just observe her. She never had a problem.

There probably isn't enough real chocolate in the frosting to worry about... but just watch her and make sure she isn't really ill from it.
Is the chihuahua a pure bred? Pure breed dogs have a harder time with chocolate toxicity.. I guess their systems are more delicate. I had a mixed breed collie that ate an entire giant Hersey's Kiss (The big kind that come in a box)... and she was fine- never even showed any signs of sickness... but my mother had a pure bred poodle who became deathly ill from a couple of M&Ms, so you never know. Just watch the dog closely and if she really truely seems sick... take her to the vet.

Why is Chocolate Lethal?
Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs.

RELAX......I've had dogs for fifty years, and ALL of them have eaten chocolate. The ONLY problem any of them ever had was from the WRAPPERS....not the chocolate. The threat of "death by chocolate" is an old wives' tale unless you feed a 2oz dog 20lbs of chocolate and NOTHING else. She MIGHT get a tummy ache or diarrhea if she's not used to food other than dog food, but she's not going to die. Just spend more time training her as to what she is and is not allowed to do/have.

Is she showing any ill effects? In all likelihood, the worst thing that's going to happen is a case of the runs. If it was just the frosting off one piece of cake, you can probably relax. Keep an eye on her and keep the chocolate out of her reach from now on.

She should be fine, I don't think there is enough theobromine in chocolate frosting to hurt her. It's the theobromine in the chocolate that can make a dog sick.
Just make sure she does not get into anymore chocolate.

well it may be a little late now but a very small ammount of hydrogen peroxide will make them vomit it back up. Be on the lookout for vomiting or diarrhea, if you see that then call a cab and get to the vet. But that may not have been enough choclate to do anything. Just keep an eye on her.

That amount of frosting isn't likely to cause problems, and I think you'd be seeing signs by now if it was going to make her sick. Keep a close watch on her until tomorrow, just in case.
