You make an interesting point.
God is more interested in our faith, love, and relationship with him than he is in how well we follow a certain "religion". Religion, with its rules and regulations, distracts us from the truth nature of God and cripples all three of the things he truly cares about.

Krishna Says in the Git "When ever their is a decline in religious principals and the truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth." So originally God Gave the Original Word and then man put his filthy hands on it and misconstrued things so God had to send another Son or representative or sometimes appear Himself (Krishna) to reestablish the Truth. That is why so many religions. But the foolish men keep holding on to the misconstrued books instead of accepting the new ones. I dont think all religions cause conflict. Its not a sin to be at war. Ecclesiastes 3:8 (NKJV) A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace
Clint Black sings a song called, "I RAQ AND ROLL". The first stanza says:
"YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS
THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN
ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN"
