When it is fried and dipped in butter, it tastes awesome. It is not so much the taste that people are afraid of. It is the texture. after the snail is cooked, it is slightly chewier than normal meats but it takes on the flaver of the fat that it was cooked with. The French are not the only cuisine that involves snails in their food. After drinking all night in New York we would usually go to China town to get snails. They prepare the snails with a sauce and the snails takes the same taste as the sauce it was cooked with. It's not all that bad. I would go get some now that you reminded my how good it is.

Don't be scared, jut try them, that is if you are not afraid of garlic and butter as well.
They don't taste like anything else, so you have to find out for yourself.
Whoever recommended froglegs - shame on you. We used to eat the local frogs as long as they were plentiful, but now they are imported frm Asia and very bad both from an environmental and culinary point of view.

Snail are considered a Delicious, they take on
the flavour of what ingredients were used like
Garlic,Herbs,Spices and Wines.. If prepared
and cooked correctly the are delicious, it's just
the texture that is a bit strange, it's like a Poached
Oyster it's Squishy and Gooey but Yummy..!
Remember "What ever doesn't kill you will make
you stronger.!" but it might make you Spew up.!

Generally like garlic flavored rubber bands IMHO. And clearly I was brave enough to try it. If the concept isn't funky enough, some had a weird texture too. I'll be passing on it in the future myself. Luckily the sauce it was in was very good, and it was on a toast point, so those 2 things make it close to edible lolol

Really taste a lot like escargot. Doesn't taste like chicken. Doesn't taste like anything else.
It is however quite amazing. If you are at a spot that serves escargot, I would recommend you have some frog legs as well.
Cheers!

I've had it once. It didn't have much flavor. Slightly fishy, garlicky because it was served in a garlic butter sauce. It was very chewy, kind of rubbery, like.
I've eaten MUCH ickier things, and so have you. I promise.

It's quite chewy with a rather benign flavor. Not bad, but not exactly tasty.
