I'm going to Arizona in a few months for about 3 weeks, and I always get a tan whenever I go there. (I am naturally very light skinned, I tan easily, and personally I hate tans.) Does anyone have any tips for preventing tans and for quickly getting rid of them?

Thanks in advance.

I think all of the advice given before me is excellent. (I am very pale naturally as well and feel the same way about tans as you do)

When I travel in the middle east I wear breathable cotton, long sleeves and a skirt. you could try that!

and like before: sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen, and hat and sunglasses, and staying in the shade, covering up.

Good luck! enjoy the warm weather!

The only thing you can do is to wear a high SPF sunscreen. Forget pants and long sleeved shirts during that time of the year! If you can stand it, wear capri pants and t-shirts rather than tank tops and make sure you cover any exposed skin with the water proof/ sweat proof SPF 45 sunscreen you can find at any drug store. I prefer the banana boat brand.
Unfortunately, there's not much else you can do.
I have a similar problem but don't mind being a little tanned- I just hate sun damage!!!

use a really high SPF sunblock. also try to stay in the shade when possible, if there is any, and wear a hat to protect part of your face from the sun. the time of day when the sun is the most powerful is usually from 11:30-3pm. go out before or after that time and the sun will be alot less powerful and you will be less likely to get sunburn. good luck!

Buy the highest SPF you can find & re-apply about every 3 hours. More if you are in the water or sweating a bunch. Good luck & have fun!!

wear a high spf sunscreen and apply often. it should still be cool enough for you to wear lightweight long sleeve shirts as well. wide brimmed hats and sunglasses are also good.
