Minus the soda... that I've given up.
I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio 4 days a week and Pilates 2 days a week.
I'm not following any specific kind of diet, just drinking a lot of water, cut out sweets and soda. And paying attention to labels. I know I'd be putting things in my body that isn't good for me... but couldn't I give myself a reward every once in a while or something?? Basically what I"m asking is what kind of impact would it have on my diet?

Of course you can.
I eat right everyday and exercise.
Each week i make myself earn my favorite fast food which is the Chicken Fiesta Burritos no cheese from Taco bell i get it fresco style so wont feel that guilty.
It does not effect my diet at all every friday i get 2 of them as long as it's before 7pm.
So whenevr i wan to cheat during the week i say to myself " no you can't have that or you won't be able to have your fave burritos on friday".

If you're sure you could keep it down to once a week, as often once people "cheat" they abandon their good intentions, then there's no reason you can't have fast food once a week! It's good you're skipping the soda, which is empty calories.
Enjoy your treat!
ps, I don't eat red meat so can't imagine how anyone could consider a hamburger something special, but the chicken sounds like a little bit 'healthier' treat. And McDonald's stopped using oils containing trans fats for their fries, so they're better than they used to be! Add a green salad and you're good to go!

Depends on the fast food. Chili at Wendi's is a good thing. Grilled chx sandwhiches. Salads (minus some dressing). I'd still stay away from the fried chx or burgers once a week. Maybe once every 3 or so weeks as a treat. . . a 1/4 lb anyway.

If it is something you are wanting as long as you eat fast food in moderation, it's ok.You don't want to deny yourself something you are craving while dieting. It will only lead to you doing without for a time and then overdoing when do you slip, then you feel guilty for messing up and end up using it as a comfort or telling yourself that you've already messed up so what does it matter. If your craving is fast food than once a week is good. It's all about moderation. My weakness is coke floats and because I was trying to shed my last 10 pounds I denied myself coke floats for a few months and when I finally gave in it was horrible. I couldn't get enough and was wanting one every night. Now I allow myself 1-2 a week and I don't crave them like I did before. You can eat almost anything you want in small portions and in small quantities.

i think it depends on what type of fast food but when dieting we sometimes want a reward so by me being in the health field i think every now and then would be fine but not every week because a lot of that stuff is just not good for you.

Sometimes you just have to let loose a little. It's okay to eat fast food once a week. Just eat healthy the rest of the week. No problem!! It shouldn't cause you to gain weight since you're only having it once a week.

Dont buy it from a restaurant - make it yourself at home. I did what you want to do and after a week of good eating and exercise a trip to 'raunchy macs' made me feel like absolute s**t for a day afterward. Pizza is a different story though!

Yes, as long as you don't go too overboard! Most serious bodybuilders include a "cheat meal" once a week into their diets. Lots of benefits to this--overcome cravings, use it as a reward/goal, etc.
Woof.
