I would hope not. If you do let me know what state and city so I would never go there.

It's going depend on the department. If you get through the initial exams and get to the oral boards, they would definitively ask more about the nature of the discharge.
If I may though, if you're just beginning your education (like the first two years), a police department won't care much about what your major is, so pick something like chemistry, or engineering, or something you can use as a backup. Just you having a BA or BS will give you a mile's reach on a lot of your competition, so get something that you'll like to have. If you get some sort of science degree, you could go into forensics (like CSI), or public admin (you could do press releases).
The most you'll get out of a CJ major is to form the bases for continuing for a masters (which you could get if you had any other major).
Also, your training in the Army has trained you a lot in what the CJ major will teach you, so if you get hired into a dept, they will send you to a 4-7 month school anyways, regardless of your education.
Best of luck to you!!!

No, the discharge would stop you from becoming a Police Officer in any recognized and certified Department.

Well, personally! I don’t think that you've got any problem, if you were normal in the first place, and you joined the police force eventually you will have 5-13 and even more (Personality disorder), therefore I don’t see any deference (^_*).

That was not very helpful was it?

I very serioulsly doubt it. If your head is not screwed on right, no police dept. can afford to have you out in the streets with a badge and gun.

i got the same thing and i was able to keep my job as a detention officer. i just had to be re evaluated by a psychiatrist and the county paid for it so i would not think that it would hurt your chances good luck

I'm thinking it would depend on what the personality disorder is.

I don't know personally but I'd think that technically you could but it would make it harder to get hired. Maybe if you go to a therapist, then tell them that you went to therapy... Good luck.

No, but you might have a good chance running for president.
