Like it shows where the enter symbols are, with an arrow, there is a P symbol all over the place. What the hell did I do?

I think you accidentally clicked the show/hide button. It is located to the left of the % of zoom.

Sometime it comes in handy when you have an unwanted space or return but it's hard to tell on the screen. If you click show/hide, you see the dots for spaces, backward Ps for paragraphs, etc.

Not to worry. It's a toggle. Click on, click off.

It's normal, you have just selected to see all the characters, I think there's a button you can press somewhere near the zoom button, it looks like the enter character. Once you've pressed it it will hide all the "invisible" characters. Hope this helps

that will not show up on your paper if you print it (just in case you didn't know). it is there because you probably pushed the icon that says "show all characters" which looks like the "p symbol" that you are seeing. just click on that again and all the weird symbols should disappear.
