I would call the Vet-even though office now closed there will be a Emergency No given that you can call-only a VET can tell you what you should do-it is not good to let a animal lie without it eating for usually a sign that somehing is wrong-the dog is sick.Be sure it drinks water-if its not drinking on his/her own very slowly pour some-a little at a time for too much too fast and you will drown the dog-water gets into lungs-in the side of its mouth(easier than the front o the mouth) if it does not drink on its own do not allow it to get hydrated which happens quickly when animals do not eat so important you get the dog to drink water.You can also call 24hr Emergency clinics(Yellow Pages) who will also give advice on the phone. It depends on how long your dog has gone without eating, if its more than a couple of days then you should get him/her to a vet, your dog may be blocked. Make sure that your dog doesn't have any problems with diarrhea, or vomiting, if either of these are present get to your vet tomorrow (or tonight if you have an e-clinic). I'm sure there is some underlying cause to why your dog won't eat, but it will probably take bloodwork and/or x-rays to figure out what is going on in there. If no diarrhea, vomiting or constipation then ask your vet for a prescription for A/D food for a couple of days.

Did this just start...? Try some canned cat food that usually works. It was recommended to me by a breeder. Is your dog drinking water? Make sure plenty of water is left out until she feels better. If shes not eating by Friday Morning I would take her to the vet

gods you all are so lucky i have turned up in the pet section. if an animal is not eating that means it feels really bad. esp dogs and cats cos we all know how naturally greedy they are. of course there is a slim possiblity the dog thinks your food is crap but still..normally this is a hard and fast sign your animal is sick and needs to go to the vet. if theres nothing wrong with doggy get some nutricion advice whilst you are there but i am betting your dog is sick .

won't eat his regular food? How long has he gone without eating? Has he been outside? Could he have gotten into something he shouldn't have? Is he acting strange? The best thing to do is take him to the vet... pets can't talk but vets can!

How long since he ate? He has obviously eaten at some point.. Just wait him out, I have never seen a dog that starved himself to death on purpose.

warm up the food (if its wet food)or add a tiny bit of crushed garlic to it.
