It looks like Mac, and is automatic and simple. It is more like Mac than it's sister Kubuntu. Very easy to use, but tricky for lack of software...you have to mess with the thing to run software from windows...get Wine software to translate win platform into Ubuntu.

My family and friends have all switched to UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if the computer has less than 256MB of RAM). To start do a dual boot with your current OS.

It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system.

You can explore it from the "LIVE CD".

It's easy to install and use.

Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community. There is excellent support - see the WIKI starter guide, and the Linux forums.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

My husband says:

It's probably the most beginner friendly Linux operating system.
It comes with the most drivers installed and a lot of good software.
There's a very large community, so it's easy to find help if you get stuck on something...
and it's being worked on constantly, so it improves at a faster rate than most other Linux distributions...

Hope that helps.

I tried it and many other distributions, but my freaking video card sucks so my resolutions was only 640*480 and there was no way to fix that. I went to all the support sites, forums, tried to configure xorg.conf, downloaded and installed 855resolution driver, but nothing worked. My advice is: try it, maybe it will work out for you. And it's very easy to uninstall too. I even posted a blog post about deleting linux without any bootloader errors.
