I'm onto you....
However, here's a suggestion: Compromise. Take your drinks to church and drink there.

OK, seriously then. Your boyfriend may have come to the opinion that he has a drinking problem, and he believes that religion will make it stop. He may be one of those people who go running for the nearest church when they experience a crisis situation.

If you don't want to stop drinking and start going to church, then I think you may have a problem.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of moron your boyfriend could be. After just writing all that, I HOPE you didn't mean "Mormon."

He sounds like he's very mature, and if you think he's a moron because he wants to stop drinking and go to church, then maybe you should find a new boyfriend. Becoming a Christian will change your life. You might want to give it a try.

I certainly don't think he is a moron!!!! Perhaps you need to take a long look at YOU!!! Sounds like he is concerned not only about himself but about you as well. What would be so awful about quitting drinking and going to church? You might find something you like there more than drinking. But regardless of what you want, you should not deny him of what he would like to do nor should you shame him either. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so selfish and judgemental.

I guess by you referring to him as a moron your not into his idea. Usually when you quit drinking you go to AA, that may be the support that he needs. You have to decide for yourself what is right for you. If your not ready to quit drinking then there is really no point doing it to make him happy.
If he wants to change and you don't, maybe you guys should re-think your relationship.

The two things are not mutually exclusive.... so getting drunk, and acting like a knob at church probably isnt the way to go but something tells me you won't get struck down on the spot if you have a few glasses of wine with dinner (at least I haven't been yet!)

Moron, I think you judge him too harshly. He is moving on and you do not wish to. It sounds like he is starting to mature ahead of you. Is church good or bad for you. Only you can decide that one. To quit drinking? Again thats up to you,

Maybe he realizes that your relationship is built around alcohol. How artificial is that? Looks to me like your boyfriend has just begun to realize a very important truth, that we all will die and face our Creator. Maybe going to church would begin to prepare you for the inevitable. We will either face a God still in our sins, and endure His wrath, or we will accept His wonderful gift of forgiveness and eternal life, and be welcomed into His kingdom. The comparison to a high from booze is incomprehensible. Get smart; follow your boyfriend's lead.

It's possible he has become a born again christian.Drinking is not good for you.It can become an addiction.Ask some questions of why
he believes what he does.It can't hurt to ask.Going to church won't hurt you.It may open your eyes to some truth you need to hear.

Hmmm.....that's interesting. Just one day out of the blue he decides to stop drinking and go to church? Any particular reason? He has to be some sort of moron. I say you should do whatever it is you'd like to do.
